Fans and analysts see this as a smart reset under General Manager Mike Borgonzi, rewarding homegrown stars like left guard Peter Skoronsky and defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons with extension soon. Both players anchor the roster and deserve long-term security. Skoronsky, a first-round pick, wraps his rookie deal after next season if they exercise his option, while Simmons seeks more guarantees on his current. Contract, through 2027.
