Abigail urged John, who was serving at that time in the Continental Congress, to remember the ladies and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors. Abigail warned her husband that women would not consider themselves bound by any laws in which they had no voice or representation. Surprising fact, John and Abigail Adams exchanged more than 1,000 letters, offering historians a remarkable window into both domestic life and the politics of the revolutionary era. So on this day in history, in 1889, the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated in 1943, the original Oklahoma premiered on Broadway, and in 1995, pop star Selena was murdered.
