There’s no time for fun or creativity or performance… you just need to Get to work! EP 179

About this episode

I’ve struggled with pursuing the things I’m most passionate about for a long time. I’ve said for 20 years I want to teach, train, and coach professionally. Essentially, I’d like to provide for my family as a professional speaker. Yet, every time I step out to pursue that, there’s a part of me that says, who do you think you are? who are you to turn your back on how you were raised? who are you to want to have fun at work? There’s something deeply ingrained in me that says, work is supposed to be hard and you’re not supposed to like it. Yet, when I’m in that mode, everything in me wants to rebel and do the opposite. Hence, my lack of productivity and beating myself up for it. On this episode, I share about my last counseling session and what I’m learning about two contradictory parts of me. The hard-working, keep your head down, show’r up’r, and the creative, ambitious, performer that I dream of being. What parts of you seem to contradict each other? If you know someone that would benefit from hearing this podcast, be sure to share it with them and as always, we would love a written review and writing on Apple podcast on Spotify.
