1:14This is the fabulous at Amritschiv and I have a theory. Hello, chickens. So, I just got an alert and it really gave me a fright. I thought I was going to do not disturb. We've had this discussion before. Do not disturb. Do not disturb. Don't give me a little alert on something that I didn't care about while I'm recording. Police. Mother's God business to do. She's got podcasts to record. That's a taboo voice. I really don't know how many episodes I'm going to get through. I had intended to record right up to next week because this weekend coming. So if this is Tuesday for everyone else or Sunday if you're on Patreon obviously.

2:16I'll be doing the conceded consideration which is a fantastic convention for science fiction, fantasy speculative fiction writers and it's about the intersection of literary writing and speculative fiction and how those things kind of fit together. We have Xiang Lu as the guest of honor who wrote a book called Ghost Cities which I've been reading and it is a hoot. Oh my god, it's so funny. It won the Miles Franklin award a couple of years ago. Or just last year anyway. It's amazing. So that will be great because it's got a fantastical element to it. It's also riddled with ridiculous puns. For instance, one of the Ghost Cities of note is called Port Mantou. It's in China supposedly.

3:17There's all these Ghost Cities in China that they built and no one lives there. Like Gary went to one and took all these photos and sent them back to me and it's wild. Like seaside towns where there's nothing. Like about seven people live and there's giant towers everywhere with no one in them. It is very very freaky. But yeah, the idea of Ghost Cities is intense. Anyway, we had Jeff in our last episode having some theories. Jeff has also had another ridiculous theory which starts with OMG exclamation point. It would have been so hilarious if the Rani's fascist government had been called OMG. At some point the doctor would see a kid doing graffiti on the propaganda posters, slipping in the E and A, thusly triggering his flashback to the three doctors. Oh my God. OMG.

4:21Why wasn't that the reason that Omega was a god now? Because OMG stands for Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh dear. So a couple of episodes ago you might remember I went to the Shell Con Mania too, Electric Bugalu, the Squeak Wall. In Wollongong, lovely David who runs the event has kind of hinted that there will be a third which is exciting. So if you are in the Shell Harbor, Illawara area, head on down. It will probably be the same time next year I imagine or around abouts. Because he's like a big cosplayer himself, it kind of tries to fit in between a bunch of other cosplay events. Because everyone loves their cosplay. Everyone loves getting around in a funny suit. And I was fascinated by the cosplayer I've got to tell you. It was an amazing experience. People talking about thrifted things versus constructed things.

5:24It was Paper Masha, one girl had, she was dressed as the Hollow Knight character silk song, whatever it is, you know, with the pointy thing. And it had like the big burgundy kind of outfit. It's just like a dress kind of thing. But it was entirely crocheted by her mouth. And like she was like, nine I think. She was a kid. Also had like a big staff that the character carries. And that also was covered in crochet. It was amazing. But yeah, there was so much stuff going on. Like, you know, people building props and all that kind of thing. One of my favorite things they did have were the people, the NPCs. There was a group down there that do lapping, you know, the live action role playing game. And they do like, they were doing demonstrations of fighting, like sword fighting and all that kind of thing. And they were walking around as NPCs, non-playable characters. And they had like exclamation marks above their heads.

6:27And they were like, you go up and get a quest from them. It was so cute. But I did not see, like not a single, not a single, Doctor Who. I was Doctor Who. I was David Tennant-ish. There was a Star Wars club there. There was a Star Trek club. They were next to each other. And I was worried that there was going to be a G-Budgy. But no, they kept to themselves pretty much. But yeah, I was surprised that there was no Doctor Who. I mean, I shouldn't be because how do you find it in Australia? Like realistically. In the past Doctor Who was really accessible. And you could watch it for free on the ABC. But the recent series has been locked behind a paywall. And a very expensive paywall at that. Like Disney is not very affordable. You know, in this day and age where you can get

7:29like some of them for like 10 bucks a month with ads and things. Or just watch the I view. Or one of the, like, SBS. Like they're all free as a bird. But yeah. How do you like that? I'm muted a cough. But yeah, it was kind of shocking to me. Like I didn't really, it wasn't a big thing at first. But then I realized there's no Daleks. There was like the, you know, the toll robot from the Mandalorian. I think it was also in the Clone Wars and stuff. It was like an Android row body murderer. But it was being driven by Babu Frickle, one of those. Is that his name? The little small puppet thing. They were in the Mandalorian and Gragu movie that I fell asleep in three times.

8:32I did. I night, I night, all the way through. And I was in the bouncy cinema. I was like bouncing around in the bouncy chair and just kept putting me to sleep. It was 11 a.m. Like it's not really a time to fall asleep 11 a.m. But yeah, I was kind of freaked out that there was no Doctor Who there. And it made me think maybe kids just didn't get it, didn't get, don't get into it anymore. I mean, it wasn't just kids who had adults there. Like the Star Trek people from the USS Anomas, which I only know because I said, us, animus. There were no dots between the S's. I just was a capital U and two S's. And I was like, what's us animus? I'm like, oh, USS Anomas. That's obviously the Star Trek club. Us being of Star Trek has anyone seen this week's Star Trek Strangely World. Oh my God, it's so good. It's amazing.

9:32I have traded in my favorite movie. I have traded in my favorite counselor, ships counselor. It used to be Deanna Troy. She's kind of the only ships counselor. I mean, there's been one or two others. But yeah, Deanna Troy was the ships counselor on Star Trek the next generation. And she's camp and fabulous and was a cat suit to work. And, you know, how can you not love her? And I have had her usurped this week. She has been usurped and become someone entirely else. Because... Deirdre Hall from Days of Our Lives played the new counselor on Star Trek. Strangely World. Malena once possessed by the devil has been in Days of Our Lives for 50 years this year. She's the new counselor. Well, I think she's always been the counselor. We just haven't seen her before.

10:33Because they were... Reese Darby, who plays like a weird omnipotent character whose devilish and cheeky appeared in last years, one of last years episodes, which was hilarious. Reese Darby's turned them all into a soap opera. And they're all kind of forced to be soap opera people. And so, of course, it was Malena from Days of Our Lives. But then at the end of the episode, she was there for real. So now, she's canonically the Starship Enterprise counselor. And you know, Malena is a psychiatrist in Salem on Days of Our Lives. Oh my God, all my fandoms are crashing into each other. It's amazing. Anyway, more in the next episode if my voice allows. Well, I can't begin AI to production.
