About this episode
It (the name Bilal) is the name of an individual, and the name of Africa describes a continent of (all) our people so it (Africa) is a little bit stronger in our life than the name of an individual, though I wanted that name (Bilalian) and I’m the one who suggested it.. I think it is (more) important for us to remember the whole continent (of Africa) now because that continent needs a picture (and an image of itself) of life given to it by the African children (meaning) us in America. So let the world call us “AFRICANS” and we (Students of Imam Mohammed and African-Americans in general) accept to be called “Africans” until THEY (African people who live on the continent of Africa) put another name on the continent. How in the world are we going to let them (the African people and people of the world) know we still care about (Africa) if we do not use the name Africa (in our ethnic name African-American)”BILALIAN or AFRICAN-AMERICAN Which Term is Best for these times.
