The Trump Press Conference from Hell | 4/15/24

Speaker Johnson (R-La.) once again massacred conservatives on Friday by reauthorizing an expanded version of FISA 702 spying, despite bipartisan support against it. He was the tie vote against requiring a warrant. Yet not only did Trump decline to pressure him, he gave Johnson complete cover at Mar-a-Lago. In addition, Trump held a press conference on Friday promoting Ukraine funding, bashing anti-abortion laws, opposing the motion to vacate the speakership, and promoting Obamacare. I warn that Trump is being compromised by a quest for wealthy donors and that if we don’t work to push him to the right, this dangerous leftward slide will accelerate. I also give baseline thoughts on Iran’s attack on Israel and how the Biden administration is working with Iran and even ordered the attack. Rather than focusing on foreign aid, the GOP House should have used leverage on budgets and reauthorization bills to prohibit Biden’s policies empowering Israel’s enemies.   Learn more about your ad choices.
