This is Scott Becker with the Becker Business and the Becker Private Equity podcast. Today's discussion is the Trump dividend. We'll call the title the Trump dividend a horrible idea. So here's the discussion. If people that listen to you regularly know that I'm not particularly an anti-Trump guy, I don't think he's perfect, but I also thought Kamala Harris was a horrible choice. Lots of pluses of minuses, but I'm not. I don't spend my life in the Trump anti-Trump era. I just don't. One of the most recent proposals from him and JD Vance is this concept of a $5,000 payment to each adult American if they if the Republicans win the House and the Senate in the midterms and some rules that the money's got to be spent in the US and those kinds of things. Now this to me is such blatant bad politics. It's it's leads to a higher deficit in our country, which is already exploding in a horrible problem. It's supposed to cost about

a trillion two or so. Every time we raise the deficit, you can't fight inflation. If you're going to keep on raising the deficit, do deficit spending. At the end of the day, I'm a fan of lower taxes, but we've got how to get the deficit and spending under control. This just seems like a blatant gray out to try and get people to vote Republican. It just up yet an unsound policy idea. The concept of lowering taxes, the concept of lowering spending, I'm all for, but if we can't lower spending and we didn't do so through the doge stuff and we got so many other benefit programs, then the flip side of giving a Trump dividend, a payment back, it's just itself ridiculous. Either lower taxes, lower spending, but don't get on to the insult of the horrible deficit we have by promising people 5,000 a person per adult. We think of horrendous idea and I know there's lots of uncertainty whether this will happen or not, but it's the kind of thing that's inflationary

it leads to more debt. I hate the idea. I don't hate President Trump. I know anytime I sizzling negative about a Trump proposal, it gets challenged by the people that are just pro-Trump people. Whenever I say that he's not a bad person, I don't hate him, then the people on the left go crazy. So if there's something here for everybody to hate, thank you so much for listening to the Becker Business and the Becker Private Equity Podcast. Thank you so much.
