The Spindle: Halo of Flies, "Big Mod Hate Trip"

WASTOIDS

About this episode

Today on The Spindle, Marc and John dig into a purist 7-inch band: Minnesota's Halo of Flies, whose discography is practically all singles. Guitarist Tom Hazelmyer launched the Amphetamine Reptile label to put out music by the trio; it eventually became a home for noise rock stalwarts Helmet, Cows, and Unsane, but Halo of Flies stood out in the grunge era as a band unafraid to put catchy melodies inside swirling feedback. Dig it!
