The Secrets to Running 200 Mile Races with Hector Rodriguez

Everyday Ultra

About this episode

What is it like to run a 200 mile race? In fact, what is it like to run multiple 200 mile races in a three month span? And how the heck do you actually prepare yourself to be able to do that?

That's why we brought on today's guest, Hector's Rodriguez, to the Everyday Ultra Podcast. Hector is an ultra-endurance athlete who is one of the only people on Earth to complete one of the hardest challenges in running: The Triple Crown of 200's. The Triple Crown consists of completing three 200+ mile races within 3 months, which is a brutal, yet rewarding accomplishment.

On top of that, Hector has completed multiple 100 mile races, 24 hour races, triathlons, and other ultra-endurance events.

In this episode, Hector and I discuss the key to building mental toughness, how to bounce back from failure on your endurance events, and how to train yourself to be your best when you're at your worst.
