In 2016, the Oxford Dictionary’s Word of the Year was "post-truth". The definition they gave was ”relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief”. To simplify: facts are secondary, or even irrelevant, when they conflict with what people want to believe. Welcome to the “post-truth” world. Truth is no longer absolute. Everyone can have their own truth based upon their own worldview, and nobody has authority to call out as being wrong. Stay with us for this study, as we discuss why it is vitally important to know objective truth, and the role the Bible has in revealing truth.
