Als Old-School-GTA-Klon mit einem frischen Polizei-Setting bietet The Precinct eine willkommene Abwechslung. Die Kernmechanik der Polizeiarbeit in Averno City – von Routinekontrollen bis zu wilden Verfolgungsjagden – ist breit gefächert und sorgt für kurzweilige Unterhaltung, auch wenn die Dichte an Verbrechen manchmal Überhand nimmt. Deutlich spürbar ist jedoch das limitierte Budget: Die Menüs wirken karg, die Story wird minimalistisch in Standbildern erzählt. Schwerwiegender sind allerdings die technischen Mängel wie missionsblockierende Bugs und Animationsprobleme, die den Spielfluss empfindlich stören können. Trotz dieser Mankos und eines eher simplen Auftretens ist The Precinct zu einem Preis von circa 30 Euro eine akzeptable Wartezeit auf das nächste GTA, die ihre Momente hat.
