Now that we have studied the use of the sword in the Old Testament and have considered what Christ Himself had to say about the sword, we turn our study to the views of the early church regarding the sword, as recorded in the New Testament epistles and other writings from the first three centuries of Christianity.
If Christ desired the saints to arm themselves against the many dangers they faced, we can be certain that this command will be found throughout these writings of the early church.
