Fans of Taylor Sheridan might have assumed his new series The Madison was the next Yellowstone chapter, but it's not part of that universe at all. The Hollywood Reporter set the record straight, confirming the show starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Patrick J. Adam stands alone. Early on, things live different. Back in 2023, reports described a Yellowstone sequel with the working title, 2024. By August of the next year, Pfeiffer was cast as the lead, and by December, it became the Madison still pitched as connected. That makes up led to plenty of head scratching among viewers. Adam himself pointed out how the original announcements fueled the confusion, making it feel like a natural extension of the Dutton family saga. Sheridan has built a strong lineup of independent projects too. Big Mayor of Kingstown, with Jeremy Renner and Michigan, Landman featuring Billy Bob Thornton in Texas Oil Country, Lioness led by Zoe Saldania's CIA, Team, and Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone in Oklahoma.
