The London Cellar Murder

About this episode

In June 1910 Detective Chief Inspector Walter Dew of Scotland Yard landed the biggest case of his career. Cora Crippen, a failed music hall singer, had gone missing several months prior and her friends were concerned. Her husband said she died while visiting family abroad but inconsistencies in his story made Detective Dew doubt his story. His suspicions were confirmed after a thorough search of the Crippens’ coal cellar revealed a horrifying discovery. What ensued was one of the greatest manhunts in British history, testing the detective’s wits as the whole world was consumed by the question “What happened to Cora Crippen?” Learn more about your ad choices.
