The Yankees have clinched their 34th consecutive winning season with a 5.3 win over the Rockies. The NCAA says it cannot overturn Michigan's win over Western Michigan after the American athletic conference appealed the outcome. Even with the victory, Michigan fell out of the AP Top 25 pool. Ohio State remains number one. Defending champion Seattle opens the NFL season Wednesday night with a Super Bowl rematch against New England.
