Iran maintains there have been no negotiations. But Trump said last night that there are people in Tehran who want to make a deal, but they're afraid they'll be killed. Iran's foreign minister appeared on State TV Wednesday and said that Tehran has not had any talks with the United States, apparently contradicting Trump's claims. As for Iran's counter demands, they do include a complete halt to U.S. and Israeli aggression as well as recognition of Iran's sovereignty over the strait of Hormuz. The claim comes as the Pentagon has been sending more troops to the Middle East. The National Guard may soon join ICE agents at U.S. airports to help with the TSA staffing crisis. President Trump said yesterday he may call up the National Guard for more help. TSA employees are not being paid during the ongoing partial government shutdown and hundreds have already quit their jobs. The acting TSA director says some TSA agents are even selling their blood to pay bills. At the airport, Priscilla Thompson says patients with passengers swearing thin. The CDC says more than 10,000 TB cases were reported in America last year, including 967 in New York. That's the most of any U.S. city and that reverses three decades of decline. The disease, also known as white plague, primarily affects the lungs and is the world's deadliest infectious disease. The no-tax on tips provision in the Big Beautiful Bill is an effect for this tax season. Mark Steber is the Chief Tax Information Officer at Jackson Hewitt. Starting in 25, the tax return you're working on now, you can deduct up to $25,000 in qualified tips. There's a new form. There's a new line number where you put it there. Because it's typically, historically, and correctly already supposed to be on your tax return, now there's a new tax deduction. Steber says it's a great new benefit for millions of Americans, but he says you have to track those qualified tips. You kind of have to come up with that data, you know, this year, because there's not an auto box on a form or a W2 or a 1099 NEC or whatever you might otherwise get for your tips. So it's important to keep track of it or already have kept track of it or at least assimilate that information. You can also deduct up to $12,500 of qualified overtime pay
