President Trump's threat to obliterate Iran's power plants, if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, is being put on hold. The president posted on true social this morning that the US and Iran have had what he called very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East. The White House has provided no additional information about these talks. We don't know who they were held between, where, when,

1:01what was discussed. And the Iranians are denying that any talks of any kind has taken place. Perhaps one of the most important things is the time at which it was posted around 720 this morning. The markets are already reacting very favorably to this oil prices are down, futures are up. This may be an effort by the president to kind of forestall a decision that could have escalated this war. At last, checked out futures were up around 705 points or just over 1.5%. This after they initially shot up more than 1200 points to the news. The NTSP is investigating a collision at New York's LaGuardia airport last night where a landing air Canada plane crashed into an airport vehicle, killing the pilot and co-pilot and injuring dozens of others, more from Scott Pringle in New York. Aviation expert Greg Feith says the big question is how did the plane and the airport vehicle both get clear to be on the runway at the same time? It's evident that there was some sort of breakdown.

Air traffic control audio shows one controller frantically saying stop over and over. And then shortly after the crash, another controller saying he messed up. I'm Michael Casner. The Supreme Court will hear arguments Monday on whether states can count mail-in ballots at our postmarked by election day, but arrive late more from Scott Carr. All 50 states require mail-in ballots to be postmarked by election day, but 14 states have grace periods in which ballots that are submitted by election day can be counted if they arrive late. Four states have passed laws eliminating grace periods and are now requiring mail-in ballots to be received by election day in order to be counted. Mullin is set to be confirmed this week as the next Department of Homeland Security Secretary following yesterday's procedural vote by the U.S. Senate. Mullin was nominated to replace Christy Nome as Homeland Security Secretary earlier this month after Nome was fired. Today's show host Savannah Guthrie is asking people not to forget about her missing mother, Wendy Swanson, with more. Savannah Guthrie and her family released a video over the weekend thanking the people of Tucson for helping them search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie who disappeared from her Tucson home about seven weeks ago. The Guthrie family is asking the community to look at camera footage and to search their memories for anything that may assist in locating their mother. Police have been searching for a person of interest in the case and have released photos of a masked man seen on Guthrie's doorbell surveillance video.
