The latest views this hour in just four minutes. The Iran War is about to enter its fourth week. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says the US is making strikes deeper into Iranian territory. While Israel's Prime Minister says Iran no longer has the capabilities to enrich uranium or manufacture ballistic missiles. Meanwhile, Iran is increasing its attacks on energy sites in neighboring Gulf states.
That's leading to heightened concerns about increasing gas and energy prices around the globe. President Trump says the Pentagon's new ask for $200 billion in funding is not just for the war in Iran. During a meeting with Japan's Prime Minister, Trump said this is a very volatile world and the US needs to be ready for anything. We want to have a good, we want to have vast amounts of ammunition which we have right now. We have a lot of ammunition but it was taken down by giving so much to Ukraine. They gave so much. Trump implied another reason for needing the money is because former President Biden left behind US weaponry in Afghanistan during the US pullout. The White House must submit the $200 billion request to Congress. The FCC's approved next star's $6.2 billion proposal to take over Tegna. FCC Chairman Brendan Kars is the agency waived a rule that stops companies from owning TV stations at reach over 39% of the country's households. Multiple states are now filing a lawsuit to block the deal, arguing the merger violates federal anti-trust laws and threatens local news.
Next star currently oversees more than 200 owned and partner stations in 116 markets across the country and the combined entity would reach nearly 60% of US households. The NCAA men's basketball tournament is off to a hot start. In today's action 12-seat high point upset 5-seat Wisconsin and 9-seat at TCU toppled 8-seat Ohio State. Former FBI director James Comey is being subpoenaed by the Justice Department. Scott Carr has the details from Washington. According to multiple reports federal prosecutors in Miami issued the subpoena as part of a DOJ investigation into former officials who have been involved in investigating President Trump. In 2016 Comey oversaw an investigation into allegations Trump's presidential campaign colluded with Russia. Reports say the DOJ probe centers on whether officials in the Obama administration broke the law when investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
I'm Scott Carr in Washington. Affordable Care Act in Roles are reportedly cutting back on spending as health care has become more expensive. A new KFF poll released this week found 55% of returning ACA marketplace in Roles say they are already or are planning to cut back on food or basic household items in order to afford health care related costs. According to the findings, 78% of respondents thought Congress did the wrong thing by letting the enhanced premium tax credits expire. Polling results also showed that nearly two-thirds of those surveyed said looking in health insurance options for 2026 made them feel worried. While 52% said it made them feel angry and 46% said it made them feel confused. A T-Rex has been stolen in Spokane. That story from Brad Ford. The Taranosaurus Rex statue is located in the middle of a roundabout near Costco in North Spokane. It was attached to a large metal stand surrounded by large rocks. It was somehow moved to the side of the roundabout and the shiny metal T-Rex was removed. It's valued at $70,000. Investigators say it was stolen March 8th between 1 and 5 in the morning.
