The war in Iran is set to hit its third week. The U.S. is reportedly sending thousands more Marines to the Middle East. According to NBC News, two sources familiar with the decision said at least 2,200 Marines are being deployed from San Diego. President Trump said yesterday he's not putting troops in Iran.

They also said they've agreed to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the strait. Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86. The iconic tough guy actor passed away yesterday morning while surrounded by friends and family in Hawaii. Norris suffered an undisclosed medical emergency and was hospitalized. His family said they would like to keep the circumstances private, but want his fans to know he was at peace. Travelers across the country are still facing long lines and disruptions that airports due to the partial government shutdown.

2:04Authorities have advised travelers to be prepared for worsening wait times today as TSA workers continue to go without pay. According to the Department of Homeland Security, over 300 TSA workers have left their jobs amid the shutdown. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass assigned a proclamation, renaming the city's Caesar Chavez Day to Farm Workers Day. It comes after several women said the late labor leader sexually assaulted them as young women and girls. The Laura Swerta co-founded the United Farm Workers Union with Chavez this week, the 95-year-old confirmed he assaulted her twice. I'm Chris Carasio. It's now illegal for law enforcement in Washington State to wear face masks. Most of the time, the law is a response to concerns about federal immigration and enforcement actions where agents wear masks. The new law has exceptions for undercover work, religious reasons, and safety equipment such as an N95 mask. The law allows officers to face a civil lawsuit. It's unclear whether it'll apply to federal officers. Plenty of upsets headline the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament yesterday.
