President Trump says he's not putting troops in Iran. Asked about it today during a meeting with the Japan's Prime Minister and the Oval Office, the President said no I'm not putting troops anywhere. Reports said last week a Marine Expeditionary Unit with 2500 Marines and 3 amphibious assault ships are being sent to the region.

1:03Trump says the Pentagon's new ask for $200 billion in funding is not just for the war in Iran, saying it's a very volatile world and the U.S. needs vast amounts of ammunition. The White House will have to submit the $200 billion request to Congress. President Trump is hosting Japan's Prime Minister for a dinner tonight, speaking ahead of the event. Trump welcomed Prime Minister Sanae Takahichi for her first visit to the White House. We've become very close, so close that I endorse her for her election. And she did what she got the greatest, the highest number ever gotten by somebody running for the highest position in Japan. During a meeting in the Oval Office today, Takahichi backed Trump in the war with Iran, stopping short of pledging any military support to secure the Strait of Hormuz. Trump was asked by a Japanese reporter while he didn't inform U.S. allies like Japan about the strikes against Iran in advance. Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Okay, why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor?

2:07Okay? Right? The Prime Minister did not respond after Trump's comment. Former FBI director James Comey's being subpoenaed by the Justice Department. Multiple reports say federal prosecutors in Miami issued the subpoena as part of a DOJ investigation into former officials who've been involved in investigating President Trump. Reports say the DOJ probe centers on whether officials in the Obama administration broke the law when investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election. I'm Scott Carr. Americans keep getting a daily dose of sticker shock at the pump AAA says the national average for a gallon of regular has jumped to $3.88. That's up by 4 cents from Wednesday and 290 a gallon in mid-February. This as Iran tightens its grip on the Strait of Hormuz. They've repeatedly attacked tankers in the waterway where about a fifth of the world's oil passes through. There was a big welcome home rally today for the Bronx student who's back in New York after spending 10 months in ice custody.

It is a city that does not stand for high school students being taken away from the life that they should have. As community activists in New York call on Mayor Mamdani to speak out regarding an off-duty police officer involved in a shooting in the Bronx. Members of Black Lives Matter gathered outside the mayor's home earlier today to condemn the actions of the officer. We see that Mamdani is trying to set forth the change but it's a constant pull from the NYPD trying to hold on to the old gang mentality that they've always had. That officer's been suspended without pay after police say the officer shot someone in King's Bridge Monday leaving that person in critical condition.

4:10There's reports the officer believed a group of people were responsible for stealing his car prior to the shooting. Taylor Swift is set to make a special appearance at this year's I Heart Music Awards. The superstars nominated nine times at this year's ceremony but will not perform. Her appearance notable as she's been keeping a low profile. The I Heart Radio Music Awards will take place March 26th at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and will air on Fox. I'm Scott Carr.
