The war in Iran is now in its 19th day. President Trump now says we don't need any help protecting the straight of foremost, more from Mark Mayfield. In a meeting with Ireland's Prime Minister at the White House, Trump made the comment to reporters when asked about getting more NATO allies to help secure the straight as the war in Iran continues.

Trump said this was a great test for NATO and they didn't want to help us. He called it shocking, adding he won't forget. The price of gas is getting more expensive than national average for a gallon of regular as now climbed to $3.84 according to AAA. That's up from $379 on Tuesday. A week ago, the national average was right around $357. Politicians are reacting to allegations that the late Labour leader, Cesar Chavez, sexually abused young women and even girls. Democrat Antonio Villarragosa is a former Los Angeles mayor who's now running for California governor.

He knew Chavez for decades. Obviously, something that's like a blow to the gut for those of us who saw many of the great things that he did. The allegations are just starting to trickle out, but the organization Chavez founded in 1962 is canceling many events this month that were designed to celebrate his legacy. The United Farm Workers says the allegations are shocking, indefensible, and something we are taking seriously. After the opening bell, the Dow is down 200 points. I'm Michael Casner. There's an expanded tax break for Americans 65 and over this year, more from Jack Crumley. There is a new deduction for seniors starting this tax season. Chief Tax Information Officer at Jackson Hewitt, Mark Steber says it is quite simple and straightforward. Be 65 or older on December 31st, 2025, and you will enjoy a $6,000 tax deduction per person. Steber says this is in addition to the standard senior deduction and applies even if you itemize.

Steber also says he's heard some questions about social security and the new deduction. And some of the confusion is, well, I'm not receiving Social Security. Doesn't matter. All you need to be is 65 or older. The deduction includes a phase out range based on seniors with higher incomes. The new deduction is part of the big beautiful bill and is available through Tax Year 2028. You can visit IRS.gov for a complete breakdown of the new deduction.
