He provided an updated timeline while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday. We're resetting the meeting and it looks like it'll take place in about five weeks. We're working with China. They'll be fine with it. Trump insisted he has a great relationship with President Xi Jinping. The President said the two leaders look forward to seeing each other. The man tapped to replace Kristi Nome as head of the Department of Homeland Security will have his confirmation hearing today.

3:11Republican Senator Mark Wayne Mullin of Oklahoma will go before the Senate Homeland Security Committee. It comes as Democrats have blocked funding to DHS since mid-February until there are reforms to ICE following the deadly shootings in Minneapolis involving federal agents. Mullin is widely expected to get the support of a simple majority in the full Senate vote after the hearing. Smaller airports across the United States may face closures if the DHS funding crisis continues. Tammy Trujillo reports. During a recent interview, TSA's Acting Deputy Administrator said if the partial shutdown continues, it's not hyperbole to suggest that we may have to quite literally shut down airports. According to Adam Stahl, the impact's already being felt as major staffing shortages surge at airport security checkpoints and travelers experience lengthy security wait times. This is now the third shutdown in less than a year to leave TSA workers temporarily unpaid. The heads of major U.S. Airlines have urged Congress to restore DHS funding as well as past measures to guarantee pay for federal aviation workers. I'm Tammy Trujillo. It turns out that a meteor that exploded over Northeast Ohio on Tuesday was actually a small asteroid weighing about seven tons.
