This is your 24-7 News Update, the latest views this hour in just four minutes. President Trump is weighing in after one of his top counterterrorism officials resigned over the Iran War. In his resignation post on X, National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent said, quote, Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, adding Trump was deceived by Israeli officials and influential members of the American media.

1:02Trump told reporters that he thought Kent was weak on security, and added that Iran has been a threat for a long time. Top US intelligence and security officials will go before the Senate today to discuss threats facing the US. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will hear from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, FBI Director Cash Patel, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and others. They'll discuss foreign threats, cyber attacks, and terrorism. The hearing comes with the US at war with Iran and several recent attacks in the US being investigated as possible acts of terrorism. They include the deadly shooting at Old Dominion University, and the attempted bombing outside the New York City Mayor's residence. US Attorney General Pam Bondi is being ordered to testify about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Mark Mayfield has details. House Overson Committee Chair James Comer issued the subpoena Tuesday. It requires Bondi to appear for a deposition on April 14. The Kentucky Republican wrote the committee believes Bondi possesses valuable insight into the investigations surrounding the convicted sex offender.

2:04The subpoena comes after five Republicans on the committee joined all Democrats earlier this month to vote to call on Bondi to testify. On Mark Mayfield. The first four of the NCAA men's basketball tournament is underway. Howard edged UMBC 8683 to claim the 16th seat in the Midwest region. They'll now play No. 1 Michigan in the first round. Texas squeaked by NC State 6866 to earn the 11th seat in the West and will face 6th ranked BYU. Iran is negotiating with FIFA to move its World Cup games out of the US. And Mattensen has details that's according to a message from the president of the Iranian football federation shared by the Iranian embassy in Mexico on social media. This comes after President Trump has made comments saying he doesn't believe it would be appropriate for Iran to take part in this summer's tournament. Iran is set to begin the tournament with two matches in Los Angeles.

I'm at Mattensen Democrats are expected to try and force a vote to fund the Department of Homeland Security minus money for ICE and for customs and border protection. House Minority Leader Kim Jeffries told his party he'll present a discharge petition that if successful would force the vote. The petition would need a handful of Republican support to pass. Democrats have refused to fund DHS since February 14th until there are reforms to ICE following the deadly shootings in Minneapolis involving ICE agents. 4:09The RIA's year-end revenue report shows the industry made $11.5 billion in 2025 with vinyl sales surpassing $1 billion for the first time since 1983. Taylor Swift leads vinyl sales with her album The Life of a Showgirl selling around 1.6 million units. Sabrina Carpenter's last two albums sold nearly 600,000 vinyl units last year.
