U.S. flyers are being hit with a one-two-punch of bad weather and long lines, delays and cancellations are starting to pile up as a line of thunderstorms hits the east coast as far south as Florida flight where reports over a thousand flights have been cancelled at last check. President Trump says we don't need any help protecting the straight of our moves.
He made the comment to reporters during a meeting with Ireland's Prime Minister at the White House today. France, Germany, and Spain have rejected involvement to secure the strategic waterway where one fifth of the world's oil passes through. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bonney is being subpoenaed to testify about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer issued this subpoena today. It requires Bonney to appear for a deposition on April 14th. The Kentucky Republican wrote the committee believes Bonney possesses valuable insight into the investigation surrounding the convicted sex offender. The subpoena comes after five Republicans on the committee joined all Democrats earlier this month to vote to call on Bonney to testify. President Trump is celebrating the Irish on this St. Patrick's Day, speaking on Capitol Hill at the annual Friends of Ireland Luncheon today. Trump noted 23 American presidents have some Irish blood in them. The Irish did not come to America. They helped found America. The fact is, and they helped build America. These are incredible people.
He also said 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence had some Irish heritage. Several dignitaries from Ireland, including Prime Minister Michal Martin, are the special guests at the luncheon. Trump met with Martin earlier today in the Oval Office. A meteor has said to have caused a loud boom heard in Ohio and surrounding states this morning. Thousands of people in Northeast Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York reported hearing and feeling it just before 9 a.m. Eastern. Some say the boom caused their houses to shake and caused items to fall from shelves. The first trailer for Dune Part 3 is out now. The film is based on the book Dune Messiah. It hits theaters on December 18th. I'm Chris Grigio. American astronaut is telling the story of what was supposed to be a quick trip to space that turned into nearly 10 months aboard the International Space Station. Barry Butch Wilmore will release a memoir called Stuck in Space today. It marks one year since his return from a 286 day mission that was originally supposed to last just a week or two. The book reflects on being unexpectedly stranded in orbit and how Wilmore leaned on discipline,
leadership, and faith to get through the isolation. The World Baseball Classic Final is set. Team USA will battle Venezuela in the championship game tonight in Miami. The stars and stripes advanced after edging the Dominican Republic two to one last night in the semifinal round. America is seeking its second ever title after winning the tournament in 2017. Venezuela moved on after taking down Italy four to two in the other semifinal. The Venezuelans are trying to claim the classic for the first time in their history. Pink Floyd's David Gilmore is breaking an auction record. Mark Mayfield explains. The musician's Black Stratocaster guitar was sold for $14.5 million during an auction of a guitarist that belonged to Lilacim Orsay, the former owner of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts. The figure makes Gilmore's Black Strat the most expensive guitar ever sold at auction. The Pink Floyd guitarist played the instrument on the band's The Dark Side of the Moon, wish you were here, animals, and the wall.
A portion of the proceeds are going to be donated to philanthropic causes. I'm Mark Mayfield. California's National Parks has set a new attendance record last year. The National Park Service says the state's nine national parks, June nearly 12 million recreational visits in 2025, an increase of more than 800,000 from the year prior. The data shows more than four million visits to Yosemite, nearly three million to Joshua Tree and over one million to Death Valley nationwide. The National Park is recorded over 300 million visits in 2025. I'm Chris Caragio.
