President Trump claims Iran's military is defeated. Trump made the comments on board Air Force One, while speaking to reporters Sunday, he said the military was decimated, but he was not ready to claim victory.

He went on to add that he felt it would take the country over a decade to rebuild at least, and that would be if the US pulled troops out right now. When asked about what was going on at the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said he was demanding that those countries come in and protect their own territory, adding that a case could be made the US doesn't need to be there at all. Energy Secretary Chris Wright is expressing optimism that gas prices will fall below $3 a gallon by summer. Wright made the prediction on NBC's Meet the Press as Americans pay steep prices at the gas pump as a result of the conflict in Iran. It is a short-term disruption in the flow of energy. Americans are feeling it right now. Americans will feel it for a few more weeks. This comes as Triple A says the current price for a gallon of regular gas in the US is around $3.70 on average. That's up about 25 cents from last week. One battle after another is the big winner following last night's Oscars. The film earned six trophies during the 98th Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

On Monday, the Chinese foreign ministry said Beijing is, quote, committed to promoting the easing and cooling down of the situation. In an interview with the Financial Times, President Trump said he wants to clarify China's position before traveling to Beijing, and that he might delay the trip.

Trump is expected to visit China from March 31st to April 2nd, although Beijing has not confirmed the dates. Formula One has confirmed it will cancel two races in the Middle East next month due to the war in the Middle East, more from Rob Martyr. ESPN reports the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia won't be held as both countries had been attacked by Iran. F1 is not expected to replace the events, which would cut the season down to 22 races. That would mean the Miami Grand Prix in May would be the first following the race in Japan at the end of March at present Mercedes and Ferrari are one two in the team standings. The United States will play for the title in the world baseball classic, more from Rory O'Neal. Team USA beat the Dominican Republic two to one in the semifinals to advance, but some fans are crying foul over the last pitch that ended the game. Team USA reliever Mason Miller's slider on a full count in the bottom of the ninth look to be low, but it was called a strike giving Team USA the win.
