U.S. Central Command says the soldiers died Thursday when their military refueling tanker crashed in Western Iraq. The State Department has cut the fee that Americans have to pay to renounce their citizenship. Jim Forbes has details. Under a new rule that went into effect on Friday, the fee was lowered by nearly 80 percent, bringing the cost down from over $2,300 to $450. The State Department said in the rule that it lowered the fee as a policy decision to reduce the cost burden on people seeking a certificate of loss of nationality. In the southwest, millions are bracing for an extreme heat wave. The National Weather Service says the L.A. area will be hit with an extremely rare long duration heat wave starting Monday, with temperatures up to 35 degrees above normal possibly lasting through Friday. Daily high temperature records could be broken across the region. Some could see all-time heat records for the month of March. I'm Scott Carr. One of the U.S. military's refueling tankers involved in a collision over western Iraq Thursday appears to be based out of California. We get the latest from Jason Nathanson. Two planes were involved in the incident, which is being called an accident, with one of the tankers crashing and killing the six service members on board. The aircraft that returned is a bill, tail number, and the aircraft that didn't make it back is an Andrews tail number.
