President Trump says he's not aware of a preliminary report that says the US is at fault in the deadly strike on an Iranian elementary school, Chris Karagio reports. The New York Times story cites US officials and others familiar with the report. Trump was asked about the report while exiting the White House today for Ohio and said he didn't know about that. The initial investigation found the strike was due to a targeting mistake by the US military. The military had been targeting an Iranian base adjacent to the school. The Tomahawk missile strike happened at the start of Operation Epic Fury, killing at least 175 people

1:03with most being children. I'm Chris Karagio. The US plans to release 172 million barrels of oil from the strategic petroleum reserve. Energy Secretary Chris Wright made the announcement on Wednesday after the International Energy Agency announced it would release 400 million barrels from its own reserve. This comes as the oil supply is being disrupted due to the Iran conflict. Oil tanker traffic through the straight-of-hormouse has slowed to a trickle causing the biggest disruption in history. It's another night of severe weather as a line of strong storm stretches from the Gulf Coast into parts of the Mid-Atlantic. The National Weather Services issued a tornado warning in North Central Maryland just west of Baltimore. There's also been a confirmed tornado tonight in Central Louisiana. So far, no reports of any injuries. It's been a real long, 335 days.

A former NFL linebacker charged with murdering his girlfriend in Tennessee allegedly used chat GPT looking for advice before calling 911. Mark Mayfield has that story. Investigators say Darren Lee sent messages telling the chat bot the woman stabbed herself before asking what he should do. Messages revealed in court alleged that he sent them a day before police were called to the couple's home when the body of Gabriella Perpetua was found. Lee was charged with first-degree murder and tampering with or fabricating evidence and is being held without bond. Lee played with the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. Harry Dunn and Daniel Hodges are two officers who defended the Capitol during the January 6th, 2021 riot and they argue the memorial's placement out of public view violates both the spirit and letter of the law. The two sued the architect of the Capitol last summer seeking to force the installation and it was finally put up over the weekend but in an area that's not accessible to the public. Now they're continuing their push for a public placement despite assertions that the location was only temporary.
