The Department has helped over 27,000 Americans abroad, offering security guidance and travel assistance. The State Department says it's actively assisting American citizens who want to leave the Middle East. Severe weather is hitting much of the central US tonight. There are reports of several tornadoes touching down in Northeastern Illinois, Northwest Indiana, Central Texas, and Oklahoma. There are reports of significant damage in Illinois with riffs torn off homes and uprooted trees. The storm prediction centers as more than 10 million people are under tornado watches tonight. The group's chief economist cited improving affordability as the key factor month over month sales of previously owned homes rose in the Midwest, South and West, but fell in the Northeast.
