A somber service took place Saturday to remember soldiers killed in Iran. The bodies of six American soldiers killed during Operation Epic Fury arrived back in the US on Saturday. President Trump and other senior officials took part in the dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
The six Army Reserve soldiers died in an attack in Kuwait on Sunday. The day after the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran. Speaking before departing Florida, Trump called them, quote, great heroes in our country. President Trump is blaming Iran for the deadly strike on a school in the southern part of the country. Launched shortly after Operation Epic Fury began, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Saturday. Trump claimed the strike on the school was, quote, done by Iran. Secretary of War Pete Hexeth then said the US is still investigating this strike. This comes after NBC News reported the Trump administration officials told lawmakers that the US was targeting the area in Iran where the school was struck. The joint maritime information center has heightened the threat level in the Middle East to critical. Rob Martyr has this story. In a 10-page report, the center said the threat level, which is at its highest, goes beyond the immediate strait of Hormuz, extending to the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
The reports said active threat from missiles, UAVs, standoff projectiles and associated collateral effects remain credible. All vessels, regardless of flag or country of origin, have been advised to stay on the highest alert. I'm Rob Martyr. An official say at least eight people have died as severe storms and tornado sweep through parts of the Midwest and plains. Four people were confirmed dead in Michigan, including a 12-year-old boy. In Oklahoma, an EF tornado killed a mother and daughter on Thursday. Then another tornado left two people dead and several others injured on Friday. More than 1,000 flights have also been canceled nationwide. I'm Jim Forbes. A tornado outbreak turned deadly in two states on Friday. At least four people were killed in Michigan as powerful twisters tore through the southwestern part of the state. In Oklahoma, a mother and teenage daughter lost their lives in the severe weather. Another round of heavy thunderstorms is expected to continue marching across the central US from today into next week.

Thousands of marchers from around the nation are gathering in Selma, Alabama for this week in 61st annual bridge crossing Jubilee. The bloody Sunday event marks the day in 1965 when Alabama state troopers attacked peaceful protesters as they were attempting to cross the Edmund-Pettus bridge for the right to vote. This year's celebration will pay special tribute to the Reverend Jesse Jackson, who passed away last month at the age of 84. And Frito Lay is recalling Miss Vicki spicy dill pickle potato chips in six states.
The FDA says voluntary recall is due to undeclared milk that could cause, quote, serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. The recall of the eight ounce bags of chips include the jalapeno flavor potato chips and was issued on Wednesday after a customer contacted the company. Frito Lay said the product is safe to consume unless the consumer has a dairy allergy or sensitivity to milk. The products were sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
