Secretary of War Pete Hegss says Iran has been waging a one-sided war against the U.S. for decades. He provided an update this morning on Operation Epic Fury, the joint attack launched by the U.S. and Israel on Iran. Over the weekend. Iran was not negotiating, they were stalling.

Buying time to reload their missile stockpiles and restart their nuclear ambitions. Their goal, hold us hostage, threatening to strike our forces. The strikes killed the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Hameini and other Iranian leaders for U.S. service members have been killed in the operation so far. President Trump on U.S. loss of life. Sadly, there will likely be more before it ends. That's the way it is likely be more, but we'll do everything possible. That won't be the case. Strikes on Hezbollah are underway throughout Lebanon. According to the Israel Defense Forces, its begun striking Hezbollah terror targets, but officials did not further elaborate. Fears of violence in the Middle East are rapidly expanding as Israel retaliates against Hezbollah, which is an Iran-backed militant and political group. The Defense Department has put military bases on alert for attacks targeting U.S. facilities and personnel.

The advisory is due to the joint U.S. Israel attack, all military bases in the country of increased security at all entrance gates. And U.S. embassies across the Middle East are issuing warnings to Americans to be cautious amid the ongoing conflict. Richard Engel is in the region. Over night we saw in Baghdad thousands of pro-around Iranians coming out onto the streets and Iran has tremendous influence over what happens in Iraq. And they were trying to get inside the green zone and swarm the U.S. embassy. The American consulate in Pakistan, a similar scene where pro-Ranian crowds tried to swarm that consulate. I'm Michael Casner. The search for Nancy Guthrie continues now more than a month after the mother of today's show Koho Savannah Guthrie was reported missing. Wendy Swanson with more. Thousands of tips have been received and a $1 million reward is being offered in connection with the 84-year-olds disappearance. Authorities in southern Arizona say Guthrie was abducted from her home, but have so far failed to identify a potential suspect.

She was reported missing on February 1 after missing church. In Arizona, I'm Wendy Swanson. A new Swiss study sides with most kids when it comes to school start times. Pretennis reports. The study gave students in grade seven to nine the choice of two start times. 95% of the students chose the later start and took an extra 45 minutes of sleep. What researchers found was the kids performed better on standardized tests in math and English. Psychologists say it's not a surprise as teenagers are biologically wired to a later sleep and wake pattern. 51% of the teachers also like the later start. I'm Bri Tennis. The late Reverend Jesse Jackson is being remembered in his home state of South Carolina. Services begin this morning and will include a processional to the South Carolina State House, where the civil rights icon will lie in state from 11 a.m. to 4 30 p.m. eastern time. A memorial service will then be held in West Columbia.

The vampire thriller sinners had a big night at the actor awards. Formerly the screen actor guild awards. The Ryan Kugler directed film one for Best Ensemble and a motion picture with Michael B. Jordan winning for Best Lead Actor. An apple is unveiling some new hardware this week.
