Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says the US is ending a one-sided war that's been waged by Iran for decades. He provided an update this morning on Operation Epic Fury, the joint attack launched by the US and Israel on Iran over the weekend.

He downplayed any pushback that may come from US allies. Capable partners. As we've said since the beginning, capable partners are good partners. Unlike so many of our traditional allies who ring their hands and clutch their pearls, himming and hawing about the use of force. The strikes killed the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Humane and other Iranian leaders for US service members have been killed in the operation. That won't be the case. All six members on three Air Force jets are in stable condition after being shot down in a friendly fire incident in Kuwait. US Central Command confirmed the F-15E strike eagles flying in support of Operation Epic Fury

were shot down by Kuwaiti Air defenses during active combat that included Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones. The incident is under investigation. US forces used an unmanned one-way attack drone in combat for the first time during the weekend strikes targeting Iran. Chris Powers with more. US Central Command says the low-cost unmanned combat attack system or Lucas was deployed from the USS Santa Barbara in the Persian Gulf. Officials say the drones were used to strike command and control facilities but did not disclose how many were launched. The system is designed as a lower-cost, expendable platform. I'm Michael Casner. Police departments in many major cities including New York City are continuing to step up patrols at sensitive sites following Saturday's joint US Israeli attacks on Iran. consulates, synagogues, other Jewish institutions, and cultural locations. Homeland Security officials say there's currently no threat. But security experts are warning that could change. Terrorist cells could be activated or lone wolves could act on their own. New Yorkers are being urged to stay vigilant at transit hubs, Wall Street museums, and the New York Public Library. A civil trial against Bill Cosby is set to get underway today in California, more from Tammy Traheo. Donna Mott singer sued Cosby, claiming the comedian drugged and raped her in 1972. When she was working as a server at a restaurant in Sosolito, Mott singer says she learned Cosby will not testify in the trial. In 2021, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned Cosby's previous sexual assault conviction. I'm Tammy Traheo.
