2:17Slim Pickens this morning, only two games on the NHL last night or so. No, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. We started talking about it for whatever reason. Well, Duke was saying that he's had some knee problems and he's looking at some possible therapy, and then, you know, went from that to the Bionic man and, you know, fighting and wrestling member in the one episode, he took down Andre the giant that was the Sasquatch. Haha, he's just no. That's much that show much. We're going way back. Yeah, it's into the 70s for sure. 70s. Yeah, anyway. I see your member. It was on on a night like it'd be on on a Friday night or Saturday night, and I could be wrong on this, but as I recollect, like my parents were out partying or doing something fun, and I would be at home like with my older sister or babysitter or something. Like, that's our young we were. And as I recall, Planet of the Apes, the show, like the weekly half hour show was on the same night. So it was quite a night of viewing when you got

They drop and fly balls like, I don't know what happened there. But Canada is hustling and uh, when in baseball games, who do they play in the quarters? Do we know? United States tomorrow at six o'clock our time. Oh boy. And you know, we were talking about its back. And I know you're such a big baseball guy, but the Americans, the, the totally screwed up on how they thought that they had advanced already. I'm not sure because you were down. Yeah, I saw this. Yeah, and everyone else was talking about it. And then so they're going to be, I think they were embarrassed about how,

5:25how that all went down. But you know, the Canadian players, they, you know, they just played with so much guts and everything like that. Cal control started the game. He was fabulous. They got a young guy named Owen Casey. He's going to play in Miami. He was in Chicago. You remember him at all last year with the Cubs? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, um, Paxton, uh, I think as a lefty can still contribute in the majors as a reliever, uh, Abraham Toro hit a home run yesterday. So, uh, they, they get it together. They play scrappy scrappy baseball. It's like the Canadian way for sure. Yeah, I think we have it like, we're born and raised in Canada with these sort of national team offense. And it's because of hockey, right? We all grew up on some version. You know, if you're old enough, you can remember the 72 series and then you remember the Canada Cubs and then it's world Cubs and even our Olympic teams. And it's like in hockey, it's, and that's obviously our ace board. It's such an honor in the whole country, you know, to get picked and play in the whole country rallies around. And I sense that these guys like for the get to get a chance for guys like Naylor

6:31Paxton again in his career and these guys to, to wear the red and white and put on the uniform and play for Canada. Like they, to my eye, anyway, I've never covered one of these, but the Canadian guys can't wait. They just love it. Yeah, for sure. In America, like, you know, they're like, yeah, that's the whole thing. I don't know. Maybe I'll stop in and start a game and like we've got, if there's an advantage for Canada, and I think it's shared by the little South American countries like Puerto Rico and Nicaragua and those guys, we really put in that uniform on for us in a baseball setting means a lot. And I kind of always question if Americans are. Yep. Yeah, they care that much. That's, well, you're 100% bang on. I mean, that's the whole thing. Bryce Harper spoke about it a couple of days ago, spec in the sense of, yeah, if this was an Olympics, maybe we'd care more. And that's the honest truth. And that's, that's not, then don't go. Let's some other young guy that wants to represent USA. Go and play. Right. You know,

You know, no, I mean, I understand how we have pitch counts and all that because we're in early in the season. And I guess that's just the nature of the sport, right? Okay, that's fine. They're, I think the 12-01 one, but I don't know about their last few games. I haven't watched them, but I did watch a huge portion of the Vegas game. They won two-one. They're last time out when Emmett was in Denver. And just for that game, at least, they kind of look like that team

8:35at the end of a long streak that isn't playing great, but one anyway. Otinger was fantastic. Vegas looked like the better team to me for the 40-some minutes I watched of that game. So listen, when you win 12 out of 13, you know, that tells me that you obviously, you're, this a long streak and it's going to come to an end. So why not tonight? You know, they're there. They might be that team that's coming to the end of a big long streak and winning that game that maybe they don't deserve to win. And Edmonton's on the other side. Edmonton's just on the upswing here. They finally look like they found their game. They got a ton of belief after big road wins in Vegas in Denver. So, you know, I can, who knows who's going to win? But I think the orders are going to, belief wise, I'm not sure they've had this, you know, they're really digging in here. Jari's going to play and he's got more belief today than he had, probably since he's been here. And they're always in a good position for sure to give us a pretty good game tonight. Yeah, it's a great word that you use their spec belief. And, you know,

9:37the players will always tell you that, you know, we had it or we have it, but you just got to show it because sometimes it gets away. It's just like confidence. It gets away on you or momentum. And, you know, the first rule is you've got to get it back as fast as possible. And, and, you know, that hasn't been the case for a lot of the parts of this season. And when after his forecheck is what he's supposed to do, but I'll tell you what, the minute he saw forward coming and joined him, he high tailed it back to the point. He's not hanging around fishing for goals. Just a high character guy, big, strong, good defender, good in the PK. This is, I think we all agree, you know, I mean, I meant to needed that guy. And I think that's that moment. Listen, Drysidle's his best face off mask, so he's playing. McDavid's your best, I mean, this is your best, everything. But the one thing McDavid does better than anyone is grab a puck in the defense of the zone and not just throw it away or ice it or get rid of it. He's the guy that

14:47can make him move, buy himself a little bit of space, make a pass, it's almost scored an empty net goal. I get why you want me, David, out in that situation, like he's, he's, you know, not many guys set up or scored empty net goal because he's got the skill way down in his own zone to make it happen. It's not about, I don't miss the net the other night, whatever. So, I can't how you play those guys, and then who's your third guy going to be? You know, it's going to be Hyman. It's going to be Nujan Hopkins. It's going to be Dickinson. I get it, you know, those are all good defensive players. I'm not going to quibble over which ones on the ice, but I think you could do, you do have to remember, I think the ice, at least three pucks there. Yeah, they did, yep. Yeah, so they couldn't change, couldn't change. You know, so you don't get to change. And, you know, so I'm not sure what, I'm not sure what noblok's intentions were and what he was actually able to do when he couldn't change any of his players. Well, there's a 33.1% the stars are at 29.7%. So, especially, yeah, those are the top two teams in dialysis pk's a shade better at 80 and a half. Well, there's a 77 too. So the power plays tonight, we might see, we might see a few go in tonight's back. Well, so who wins? Like, you know, the orders are defending pretty well. I believe the Colorado had one power play goal on the line. Correct. And they were five or five going into the game since the trade deadline. They just got a nice pass and wired it through about six guys and is no way in group. You can see that. So, and you know what? Like, I often, I often think like whenever I look at the orders power play and they do something that I think is they should do something differently. I always tell myself to shut up because they're the best power play in the league. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. And there they are. The other night in a five minute major, they, you know,

And their last power play of the game came right around the middle of that third period in Colorado. And they really needed one. It was a three three game. And what happens, right? David, David, David, the dry saddle back to McDavid and you're up by one. So I kind of, you know, where I'll get paid to criticize the team and tell them how to do what they do.
