Did you get some rest up after a long week there with Trade Deadline, and that's kind of where I wanted to start, and just revisit with you. I'm sure you're like everyone else, Frank, and thinking that Colorado was probably the biggest winner on Trade Deadline day? I have recovered a bit, still a little bit oddly enough, I think daylight savings through in a little jolt from Milan that I didn't really need. So the sleep schedule has been a little wacky, Saturday, I was so gassed, I slept past

2:03one o'clock for the first time in forever. I can't recall the last time I done that sober, and Scott up had a late breakfast with the fam, and then like came back home and went right back to sleep. Oh, well, you're, yeah, it's a long, long couple days. Well, you said daylight saving time. I mean, our Josh Fenwick had cost him an hour and 50 minutes yesterday, Frank. He was an hour and 50 minutes late for work. How's that possible? We don't know. Yeah. Nobody knows. Nobody. Maybe, maybe an hour I could understand, like you're like, hey, my clock was wrong still, and I didn't change here. But an hour, what was the extra 50 minutes for? No idea. And it didn't even bring in coffee or donuts or nothing. Nothing. No donuts, nothing. Yeah. Eddie Steele was so mad, Frank, you could, you, oh, it was unbelievable. Wow. Yeah. I don't know what I would do in that case. Well, I think there's going to be some retribution come Friday. That's what we're looking at right now. Yeah.

3:03I like that. So did you think Colorado was the trade deadline winner, Frank? Well, it's hard not to say that they didn't improve their team the most. I mean, when you look at the three different places that they added, and I don't think Brett Kool-Ack in his addition has gotten nearly enough attention for how he helps just change the image of their defense core, which is already strong. I mean, anytime you have McCarran and Taves, like you're in a good spot to start, but now they've got a different element that they really need it. And that's a huge upgrade over Sam Gerard. So that's one. Cadrie down the middle is self explanatory. They've been on this quest to replace him now that they have Brock Nelson in the two hole. Cadrie in the three spot is, that's an embarrassment of riches. Now I wonder if they had known that they were going to actually pull off the deal for Cadrie, would they have still traded for Nick Wad? And now it's not a problem having too many centers. But Jack Jury, Parker Kelly, like, obviously, you've got players that are now playing the

4:09wing. So a lot of assets to give up for Nick Wad to be so far down the lineup, but that speaks to the depth that they have and how tough of an out that they're going to be in these playoffs. I mean, they are right now the prohibitive favorite. Hey, on the West Coast last night, while everyone beats Van Coover, but Jake Sanderson is going to be out for a little while here. That's just devastating for what Ottawa is going to try to do here down the stretch Frank and try to make a playoff push. It is, but I actually feel pretty good about the SENS 9-3 and one in their last 9-2 and one in their last 12. Something like that. Yeah. And what's really been impressive as evidenced by the shutout is how much they've cut down on goals against. I mean, that's been the biggest thing that's challenged the SENS this season, not that they can't score, not that they don't have good players, just that they haven't gotten a consistent effort in net. And now that that's turned around a little bit of late, I think the SENS are a real playoff

5:12threat, even in light of the Sanderson injury. So who's coming out then? Like, is it Boston? And do you think Columbus, I mean, Columbus is between Ottawa and Boston right now? Yeah. I mean, I think the team you have to look at is the Pittsburgh Penguins. I mean, they've, they're 3, 2, and 2 in their last 7, I think, since the Olympic break. And the fun that you can have, or I guess depends on what's perspective you have, is 3, 2, and 2 continued to repeat that over the final 21 games of the season for the Pittsburgh Penguins or 19 games of the season. That will get you in 3, 2, and 2 will give the Pittsburgh Penguins 100 points. So that's where it starts to get a little bit hazy or fuzzy for the SENS and the Blue Jackets is these teams that are ahead of them really only need to play slightly above 500, 525 hockey, and they're going to find their way into the playoffs just based on points.

6:17Is it crazy to think here, Frank, that there could be one team that's over 100 points and not make it? Yeah. I think that's pretty crazy. I mean, I know, I'm just trying to, you know, there's just because of how tight things are. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I mean, it looks like where we're trending now is like 97, 98, which is still relatively high based on the salary cap, aeronorms, but it's, it feels like 100 is a bit of a stretch. Yeah. I mean, someone's bound to have a stretch where they just aren't able to go 3, 2, and 2. Yeah. Right? Someone's bound to have a stretch like the Blue Jackets where they don't win 12 out of 18. Mm-hmm. Hey, also on Sunday night, you must have been just watching that Buffalo Tampa game and going, what's going on here, man? The first thing I thought of with both goalies playing the entirety of the game was I covered a game very early in my career as bris Galoff Pavlich, 98 in regulation.

7:19Wow. And both goalies were in all game. Now, it didn't have the same energy and and fights and and juice of a March game, but still pretty amazing to think that that's how it played out. I think it's 93 or 94 since we saw the 15 goals in a similar amount of penalty minutes. And there weren't, I think that was Philadelphia month for all years ago, but there weren't as many fights as we had in the Buffalo Tampa game. Yeah. So, yeah, exactly right. Flyers, Canadians, February 21st, 1994, 15 combined goals and 27 total penalty minutes. Total penalties. I should say. You know, I'll be honest, Frank, I thought that Brandon Hagel was going to get something as suspension. I didn't like what I saw from Brandon Hagel. So I mean, the fine, you know, for being the aggressor on Dali, and I didn't like the punches that he threw on Krebs when Krebs was on the ice. Yeah. When a guy's like laying on the ice, sorry, like you can't be punching him in the back of the head. Yeah, yeah.

8:20There are rules of engagement. The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about fight club. That's why I thought I thought he was going to get something. I thought he was, but I mean, look, they didn't, there was, I disagreed with the Department of Player Safety yesterday as well on the, the hit on Macklein Celebrini. I just thought, I mean, it's a clear hit to the head. Players, I know he slumped over and leaning into the play, but not only that, it was clear interference. He wasn't even near the puck. Am I crazy? Well, yeah, no, I'm kind of with you on that too. And I mean, this is the things that we want to eliminate. We had so many textures, Frank, yesterday comparing, you know, Dali and Hagel comparing it to, to Bertuzzi and Moore. And to me, that was a little extreme and maybe more than a little. It's more, more than a little, but it got brought up many, many times from our textures. Yeah, I mean, I don't, I don't view it in anywhere close to the same light, but I'm

9:22with you. Like you could have very easily given Brandon Hagel a game at least. What if Dali's down on the ice and a heap and taken off on a stretcher? Like Moore was. We'd be looking at it in a different way, just like what if Macklencella-Breeni missed the next 15 games of the concussion? We'd be talking about it totally differently. But is there a game or two that's peaking your interest? I mean, when you look at the schedule, there's so many cool matchups, like even San Jose and Buffalo, and we'll talk about the orders in a while. They're a big underdog tonight, by the way. Yeah. I don't know if the books are just looking at Buffalo riding that high from keeping Tampa. I would look at it the opposite, which would be probably more prone to a letdown against the San Jose team that's scratching and clawing for every point right now.

12:28Fair. So do you got a game or two that your interest is a bunch? Yeah, I mean, there's a bunch. You mentioned Quick Turn around. The Kings played yesterday in Columbus. They're now in Boston. The Blue Jackets, they were hosting that makeup game yesterday. They're in Tampa tonight, so that's a really quick turn. I mean, these are playoff games for both Columbus and L.A. To get to this point now where you're doing it tired and traveling is certainly less than ideal. So I'm really curious about the Kings, like I said right off the hop of the season that I didn't think the Kings were a playoff team, and I'm not saying that to toot my horn, but I just thought their deadline was so perplexing. So I understand the Panarin deal will A, because you didn't give up a lot to get him and B, because you signed such a reasonable contract extension that, yeah, that deal makes sense every day of the week. I can understand trading Corey Perry and caching in on a second round pick.

13:31The Kings weren't willing to commit to a contract extension in the moment with Perry. I would think still, by the way, that going back to L.A. is on the table in the summer, just in parentheses. But then trading for Scott Lotton, I know it wasn't a huge price to pay, but it was like it was like the Kings couldn't make up their mind. What do we want to do here? Yeah, we interrupt. And speaking of that, I don't know how you could be a Nashville Predator's fan and not be disappointed today. But put a stake in the ground. You trade away the bottom half of your lineup. And then when it comes to guys that you could actually truly get significant returns for to jumpstart this much needed rebuild process for a team that most of their quality players are on the wrong side of 30. Eric Hala as a pending UFA ends up staying put. Ryan O'Reilly with the interest that was there. He doesn't move. I know Steven Stamco says the no trade and he could control it, but Barry Trotts said

14:34he was getting calls on him. Jonathan Marshall so wanted out of there in the worst way. You couldn't find a way to be a problem solver and make that happen. The Preds, for all this, we're spinning our wheels here, they're changing their GM. What are they doing? Stuff in neutral. So tonight, oilers are in Colorado. There was some crap floating around yesterday. I think that's the best way to describe it. I mean, just the way things get legs now on don't have to tell you Frank on the internet with things on social media. Have you been in my mentions the last couple of weeks? No Frank, I haven't noticed anything. Oh my God. I just, you know, one thing gets said and it's an alternate reality that's created. That's like, that's what we live in in 2026. It reminds me of Frank of the, you know, there used to be like a game that you'd play and

15:35you'd tell someone to the next of you. And then that story by the time it got to the end of the line with 20 people, it wasn't even close to the very first story. Yeah, exactly. And now, I mean, you're at almost every practice, right? I mean, as many as I can get to because, you know, by the time I get there, there, you know, a lot of them are 11 and the way they practice now, they're done by the time I get there. So, but still, you would have known about a quote unquote altercation or an incident or something that happened. So how we explain it this morning, Frank, is it's like, you know, in the 80s, when the others practice, they practice hard and they practice, everyone said that we're going to get better. Our third and fourth line guys going up against Gretzky and Messier, we're going to get better. I mean, they're going to have a tougher going practice than they are when we play whoever that night for the next night. And that's just all that was happening here like we, like we got to be better at practice because we don't get to practice all a lot.

16:36The frequency is in there. So that's all this is, you know, just be, have a better practice. Well, I'm about to just play better too. Like, I think Tristan Jari's biggest mistake was that he's the new guy and he arrives and essentially called out the defense in front of him and not so many words. After the Minnesota game, yeah, it shouldn't have done that. Like you're the new guy here trying to fit in because now when it comes around and you're not doing your job, now what's everyone going to say and look, it's, it's not a stretch to say that this oiler season depends on the trade that was made to bring interest in Jari. I mean, and it's not revisionist history either to say that it's entirely possible that the oilers just traded for another version of Stuart Skinner and locked themselves further into a tough spot with the term that's remaining on Jari's deal.

17:37So I mean, I was, Dallas, one of our regular textures that we're going back and forth. Right now at this point of the season, I said to them, and I said on the air, there's no way that anyone can say that the oilers gold tending is better. Right now, then what they had in the prior two years going down the stretch, it's not even the best thing that you could possibly say is that it's the same and it isn't. And but I think that the common thread is that neither one of them inspires confidence. Well, that's fair. And the point that I made yesterday was at least if you don't have someone that inspires confidence in your net, the best thing about Stuart Skinner was that he was appending UFA. You get to reinvent the position, remake it, find a goalie on the market somewhere, trade for someone. You've got a free space on your bingo card. And now they are locked in with a more expensive goalie. And you gave up Kool-Ack and a second. Well, that was the other part was the Kool-Ack deal that then necessitated to go out

18:39and trade for someone like a Conor Murphy. And I know you could say, well, Murphy plays the right side and blah, blah, blah, blah, like, okay.
