Good morning, Conman. Good morning, Kevin. How are you? Wow. We were talking about all the NFL money doled out. Yeah. Very. Two that, well, it's, I mean, you can never keep track to be honest with you. But there were still some deals trickling in later last night and even this morning. But as of around supper time yesterday, it was 2.3 billion. 2.3 billion dollars in total contracts.

2:01That's the large number, not guaranteeing, and it's like that. So that's a, it's a nice little payday for a lot of players. That's good money. Yeah. 2.3 billion. I mean, Jalen Phillips really cashed in at 30 million years. His story is unbelievable. Like he had to retire from football at UCLA and went to Miami. There's a picture that surfaced of him. Like he looked like he had the frame of Donovan and then like, That's impossible. He was quite slight. And then he just bulked up and he's gone heck of a run, you know, with the dolphins and the eagles and now the panther is paying him and Alec Pierce. That one's crazy to me. I mean, the, the Pierce one and that's 28 and a half. Yeah. When he, he, he's eclipsed 1,000 yards once in his careers last year. Yeah. Barely with an extra game. Like we used to look at 1,000 yards as a receiver. Like that's kind of the threshold for a good player with one less game. Is that, is that like the one contract? Like everyone is talking about Malik Willis too as well. Yeah. Yeah. But as far as you're like an overpay.

3:02I think so. But I mean, you go back in his last two years. Yard's perception is over 20 yards. So obviously a good player. And he has another most consistent quarterback. And he's a player, uh, and he's a player on the rise as well. And they drafted him. So I don't mind it necessarily. But the number, you know, seemed a little bit high. And then even like Tyler Lindermom with the Raiders and they had the money to pay. And I love it for them because you look at, it's Max Crosby for. And you can just say Lindermom minus $3 million. That's Crosby was 30. He's 27 plus the two first round picks. But yeah, he kind of reset that center markets. So when it comes for Crete Humphrey to cash in again, it's going to work out pretty good. I would think, uh, just the name. So you mentioned three of them. Yeah. Uh, the fact that that was the mark set by a positional record for the largest, uh, annual salary by a free agent. So it's Phillips at Edge Pierce at White Outlander bomb at, uh, center and then Taylor corner. Yeah. So those four guys set the record, uh, yesterday. And it's only going to be going up and up and up.

4:05When you think about where the, you know, the cap increased as well. I mean, it's just an insane amount of money. Like the NFL is just such a beast, such a beast. It's just the reminder to pay your guys almost as soon as you can. Because, you know, you go back to when Herbert and Burrow were getting their contract extensions. Uh, whoever signed first was obviously going to get last like team friendly. As soon as you can sign it, you should do it. I was surprised with Odafe Owe also with the commanders. That was a big one too. That's a lot of people are saying that's a big overview. He was good with the chargers. But before that, it was up and down kind of a streaky splash to place. That he priced himself out of the charges. Like I wanted him back with them. But for $25 million, you just couldn't do it. Yeah, we had a lot of text to Connor, even I don't know. These are stealer fans, but they're talking about the moves that the Steelers have made and, you know, the bigger one, I guess, is running back with Rico Dowell coming in. Yeah, we're one of the bigger ones. Reuniting with McCarthy, who we've been with in Dallas. I like the pitman trade as well. We were talking with that. You got two receivers like six five two 20 plus six four, I think, technically.

5:10They're big. Like that's, if it is Aaron Rogers, he's got the basketball team now. We did throw two. Just love it up and let them go get it. But, you know, you can use pitman in the screen game as well. And I've doubted, I'm curious to see in what the panthers do now. You know, do they drafts running back? They've got Jonathan Brooks, who just can't say healthy in the Chuba Hubbard, of course, who, you know, given the opportunity, he can make some plays. So, uh, yeah, I do, I do like the Steelers off season. But again, like now you just kind of wait and see, well, what's the quarterback situation going to be? So, Jalen Phillips and Devon Lloyd, though in Carolina, those are two, two of the biggest acquisitions on defense, for sure. Yeah, Devon Lloyd. I remember him coming out of college at Utah and just like a freak of an athlete. I was surprised that Jags let him walk. I thought he might be someone they might try to lock up here. But for the Carolina Panthers, a team on the rise in that division, you know, the bucks lose Mike Evans, the Saints. Well, we'll have to see what they do. And then the Atlanta Falcons, they've got all the potential. But, you know, will they really put it together? I think it's a really good time for the Carolina Panthers to go out there and load up. Because, you know, you got Bryce Yong, you're starting to get him some receivers on the

6:11offense, not in the football. And defensively, it's not a bad unit like JC Horn's a good corner. So, start building it up. And yeah, I like Devon spending the money. Yeah, and then Tien goes. He's so, he leaves. Yeah, now and always in New Orleans. You kind of wonder like with Jacksonville, like, I mean, that's a couple, like, you lose a couple of big pieces here. Yeah, I mean, they kind of have the running back position. I think they have the depth to overcome it. And I know what you're speaking of the Saints. I'm curious what happens with the Alvin Campera. Yeah, I mean, what a team take him on. I've always thought that in the last two years, he's just, he had so many touches in mileage on him there for about a three-year span. You know, and then I thought, like, the last. And he's had some injuries too, obviously. Yeah, but I just thought that he maybe lost some of that explosiveness. I mean, 30 years old, you know, it's, it's kind of just like a, I feel like not maybe always the best take. But that's kind of that age we say where they're going to follow off at age 30. And he had some injury concerns last year. But I still think, like, if you got him, remember Kevin Falk for the Patriots back in the day?

7:14Like, what a good receiving option he was when they, they need to just kind of. They're under a dom. Yeah, like, imagine having Camera in that situation. I would then be a little dumb passes. Yeah, and then he always gets like, you need seven, he'll get nine. You need 10, he'll get 11. Like, he always just made those big plays. Like, I think that'd be a great role for him at this point of his career. Maybe he still feels like he can be a featureback. But, you know, limit the hits. He can still make some plays, I think. I just don't know if that's going to be with New Orleans. I don't know if it is either, but I don't know where a good fit is either. I mean, I always thought, like, potentially with the Broncos, just reuniting him with Sean Payton. Now they bring back JK Dolby's on a two year extension. So maybe that makes the likelihood a little bit less. I would hate to see it, but like the chiefs, you know, to go on another run, just to give them another option out of the backfield there. I know Kenneth Walker, it's probably less likely. But, you know, I kind of always thought like Casey would be a good fit for him too. Yeah, but now with Walker there, I don't know exactly how they're going to implement. And I would think Walker is going to get more touches than he, than he,

8:16what he was in Seattle. Yeah, I think so too. I kind of joke that, you know, fantasy wise, they'll probably like cream hunts coming into the Charbon A roll and steel touchdowns for him all the time. But yeah, that's good for him. And good for him to get the $15 million. That's more than the franchise tag would have been. Yeah, but he got it for, you know, three years. So good for him. See, I think that Kenneth Walker has the ability. I don't know how it's saying like the bell cow back, like, like what they want gentied to be. Yeah, or in Atlanta, probably on, you know, I'm not saying that he can get to that. But I think there's a lot more, like maybe if he can get to like that 75, 80 percent instead of being where, like, and now with Noel Gears in Atlanta, you know, that's, they got to, they can't wear out beach on it, you know. I mean, Kenneth Walker last year was the only season he stayed totally healthy, right? The first three years in the league, he missed a couple games, previous year, he played an 11 game. So I kind of agree with you like what we saw from him, he's got the capabilities. But do you really want to risk it? Exactly.

9:16I guess I can get a guy in there to take some of the lumps. Maybe the second and short, third and short. Maybe you do so. But yeah, it was a good, good play by KC. And then they've got two first round picks here. So they're retooling all turn things around quick. I'm sure. The conman, Conor Helly with us on sports 1440. And your chargers, Clill Mac, one year, 18 mil. He's, I mean, he's 35, right? Yeah, I mean, he, he sets the edge still. Very good in the run game. I think also just as a leader, I've heard the stories like before Friday night, he always takes a defense over team dinners and everything like that. So really good guy to have in the room for that sort of thing. But he, I don't think he has the burst he wants. That's probably pretty obvious statement. He's not going to, you know, terrorize quarterbacks the way he used to. But every once in a while, he still makes a good play. He can, you know, set up a tackle, hit him with a different move, kind of get him on skates. Like I said, such the edge pretty good against the run still. And just someone that I think for the culture, they wanted to keep in the room.

10:17So yeah, 18 million dollars. I'm sure they would have loved to have him for a little bit less. But that's okay for Khalil. Yeah, hey, we're, we've been talking about a couple things last night outside, you know, just with the world baseball classic. And then they had big NBA game between OKC and Denver. And how Josh Fenwick said, he called it the game of the years. And I mean, SGA had 35 and ties Will Chamberlain's record for 126 consecutive games. Oh, here's that stat. There it is. So just looking up on the old telly here, because it was 61 to 63. And then he had another 92 game, Will Chamberlain. So Josh, he did a little research here. So there was about a three week period in between where he didn't have 20 point games. But he said another one and went 92. So he had he been able to continue that marquee. Probably be about 235, 240 games. Had he continued that amazing 20 points per game. It's unreal. Yeah. I mean, now it is, is what SGA is doing.

13:22The game I think has got a little bit better. I think the gap has been closed for the bottom tier player and the NBA to the top tier, but it's unbelievable. And then the three pointer he hit to put them up by four at the end, like I love to see that. Just different types of players too. Yeah. And you think back in all with Michael Jordan and magic and Larry Bird, like that there isn't more of these longer streaks for us. Do you think there was a streak where MJ just kind of put the team on the back and went for it? Have you been watching any of the world baseball classic a little bit here and there? I've been throwing it on kind of background noise just probably not getting as into it as some of the other people, especially yesterday. I was totally locked into the NFL free agency waiting for some money to be spent by the chargers. But yeah, I mean, it's an awesome event and you know, the team's getting into it. I was at the Venezuelan team that had the drum going on and the dugout. I want I didn't see. I mean, it was cool. Yeah, it was awesome though. It was awesome though. It's fun to watch these tournaments and how all these big-name players get out there for them, representing the countries.

14:23We just saw it with hockey. It brings out the best. Well, we've been talking about inspect really loud this morning because he's a big baseball guy. Yeah, because he said, what's this guy played in the sunburst league? And we're talking about the pitcher for checks that pitched against Japan this morning. He's electrician. So he's going back. There was his last game. And I said, if you see the picture of him, he looks, he's like not a doppelganger, but he looks a lot like from the hangover, Zach Gallifinakis, or he looks a little bit like the caddy from Happy Gilmore. Happy Gilmore? So that's kind of, and he's looking up and he's getting a standing ovation in the Tokyo Dome. That's awesome. And now he's got to go back to, I don't know, pulling cable or whatever. So, and then we were talking about the USA game, which was a really good well-played game, USA in Mexico last year. So it's good ball at this time of the year. Normally, you've got to wait for a long time. Yeah. And even, I always give these guys credit because just think, just think if they did this say

15:26for the world, like the world cup of hockey. Yeah. And pretend they did it in September. So, you know, what kind of level do you think you'd see? You know, I think that the, yeah, I mean, you're comparing apples and oranges here because baseball is way different. But I really truly believe a lot of these guys started their training and everything else, cage hitting and fielding much earlier because they wanted to be at a level where, well, spring training's way different. Yeah. Yeah, you're right, the like the benefit of baseball where it's not a physical sport, you know, going ahead to head, right? Maybe get clung to once or twice, but yeah, probably not quite as much for risk because there would be a hockey where it would happen. I don't know. I mean, we saw the amount twice. We've seen the mid-season tournament where these guys are going out there and especially in the rivalry games, really, laying it on the line and throwing hits and fighting last year. So, it'd be interesting. I'm just, yeah, but like you said, though, for sure, they probably got ready a couple of weeks earlier, month earlier to be wrapped

16:27hit the ground running and try to win. Uh, Connor Halley with us in the sports 1440 studios. Oilers in Colorado. Tony, what do you make of this game? Even, you know, we had Connor McGay he on. I was talking about it off the top because I mentioned it over at key 97. I have no idea what to expect tonight. No. And Connor said like, Connor McGay he played by play guy for the hours was, you know, when I think it's going to be a five four game next year, you know, it's going to be two one. Yeah. So, I don't know what I don't know exactly where to kind of get a grasp on this one. I mean, I think if you're the Amazon oilers and this one, you don't want to get into a shootout. The avalanches have so much firepower and the oilers gold. And he's been so inconsistent. You're like, you really have faith that you're going to get that extra save. So, for me, the blueprint is kind of simple. And although we should expect goals, you know, you just saw the game against the Vegas Golden Knights, where I thought the oilers played better defensively. And, you know, I don't think the Vegas Golden Knights are anywhere near with the Colorado avalanche hard. But, you know, this is the time you got to start to find the defensive game getting into the playoffs so we know they're capable of playing. So, why not go up against an offense

17:29like this and try to slow them down and kind of, you know, you know, you do the proper fundamentals here. Like, this is getting ready for play off hockey. The craziest stat and even again, McGay goes, I don't know, I can't tell you, I don't have an answer. Respect. Same thing. Don't have an answer. So, Colorado's plus 83 and goal differential. By far, the number one in the league, but their power play efficiency is half of what the oilers is. Yeah. They're at 15.8%. Oilers are at 32.8. Like, it doesn't make sense, especially with my car, my cannon, netches. Yeah. I think Audrey's going to be on the power play now. Maybe, you know, and then they're still missing a round of scog and things like that. But yeah, I don't understand it. It must be really frustrating for avalanche fans. Like, they're winning hockey games so they probably don't care quite as much. But you get into the playoff, so you need the special things to become that X factors. So, I don't know. Maybe they're just too fancy. We've seen that in Edmonton a few times. Trying to pass it into the net. Yeah. What's coming up on the Jason Griger show this afternoon? There's no way this is going to work. It was like, you know, there might, what, we get a couple stragglers come in. Well, he said he was just sitting in his office like a tenant night and all of a sudden he hears this, all the stuff outside. And people are lining up around the block for to get in at midnight. Now, I remember this. Yeah. With the deals were that good. Yeah. Well, like, that's how they did it.

19:29I mean, in, well, you guys, you know how much they advertise. Oh, yeah. That's a big part of, you know, who they, who they were and what they became. Yeah. Because. Hey, we got our mattress at the brick forest in the St. Albert mattress location. Shut up to them. It was fantastic. Yeah. Yeah.
