About this episode
“There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.” – Nelson Mandela
Every reunion is unique and precious, whether it be a meeting with friends, family, classmates or co-workers. Reunions are important celebrations of roots, meaningful relationships and traditions that give us the chance to reconnect with our own history and values.
On this episode Lisa and Michael will be exploring how being reunited with people from out past can help us better understand who we are and how we got to where we are today. Reunions reinforce our common bonds, renews our friendships, and invigorates an appreciation of what’s uniquely wonderful about our being connected despite how life’s different but parallel journey has taken us on different paths. Reunions can revive our sense of belonging, give us pride in where we come from and help us to feel affirmed in knowing who we are. The connection of a reunion handshake or a shared hug can open an opportunity to add new memories to the precious experiences we have shared over the years. The simple joy of reunion is that it reminds us not only to celebrate the past but to give time to what and who we value in the present, connecting with love to our friends, classmates and family while they are still here is a beautiful gift.
