1:06And it's just nice to know that we're still in touch. We're still friends. We're still seeing our kids grow up and we have moments like this that we show it, you know, we cherish their quick and thin and you know, just a really, really good friend. I appreciate everything and all our friendship and just knowing that, you know, we are in our 40s. Forever in our life. Happy 40th birthday, baby. We're still at 30th. And it was still back in the day. Yeah. Back in the bathroom. It's just, I know. This is awesome to have my friends here and you know, we sit around by all the love and the two friendships and knowing that we're still here, still in touch, but I'm really easy to have a friend and to have those people friends here means a lot to me to be honest. You know, Janie, I'm not like, you know, you know, we're crying, but it's just, you know, nice time and we really love everybody. We love my girl, Alex. I love you. 2:12And it's now a good friend to have a friend. It's all good people. Yes. And I saw it matters and the truth to you, we're lucky. We're so lucky. Yeah, I can. Best Asian home world. My guest today is Michelle Jennings. How much show? Good to see you on the show today. Hi. How are you? I'm so honored that you wanted to interview me. Who will be the person? Let me know what's on your mind. OK. Yes, I'm like, well, basically, I'm sorry. And MC here is video solution to quit. And you can't touch it. I was like, well, this is one of our dance.

8:15So how long should we start? So how long should we start? And it's in the dance. Yes. Say that again. OK. I was asked how you got started. How you got started as a dancer in the entertainment field. Oh, how did I get started? Oh, OK. So right out of high school, I went to my first concert. And it was a concert with MC Hammer. I think Mary J. Blasge. And there was a couple of other artists that was performing. And one of my best friends at the time, her auntie was our escort for the concert, because we were under age. And after the concert, we met everybody. But we didn't get to meet Hammer. I really wasn't so I wasn't that aware of who he was.

9:16But so anyway, as we were walking, leaving the concert, the guy who did his t-shirts was interested in my friend's auntie. So they got a kept in contact. And then when Hammer was looking for girls, he asked if we could come and audition. And that's how we... Well, she went... Of course, she went ahead of time to secure her spot. And then once she knew that they wanted more people, then she was like, hey, Michelle, you want to come in audition? And so that day, I went there. And Hammer was like, hey, you got anything to try on? I was like, OK, yeah, so I threw on. I picked up the routine so quick, quicker than anybody else. And so he was like, would you move down? I mean, can you come and work with me right away?

10:18I was like, OK, let me just let everybody know. And still, at that time, I didn't really know who he was. But I just knew I loved to dance. So... Wow. That's wonderful. Yeah. So what was like to work with him? Was he very nice to you? Oh, yeah. You know what? He was definitely a pleasure to work with. He... The way he had his crew set up, we worked out every day. We ran six miles a day. We rehearsed all night long. That was not because that was our job. That's what we did. So it was... I was in the best shape of my life. I was in the best shape mentally, physically, everything. Because he just had us doing the things we needed to do. And we ate good. You know, we didn't eat red meat.

11:19So he really had a tight camp. And... Yeah, he was definitely a pleasure to work with. Okay, that's... You know, for me. Well, that's wonderful, yeah. So what are the videos I've been dancing before? I mean, dancing, you know, besides just being here with us. Have you ever danced with any other artists like Altair? Well, I did. I danced for this group at the time. After I left the group, Hammers, I went to LA. But in between that time, I met this girl group. It was a rapid singer called Shugandat. And Shug is truth hurts from, you know, she was... She was a doctor, Dr. Dre. So it was myself and one of my really good friends, Shannon. And we were to go on tour with them after that one, because that was... Round the time, Hammers was dealing with... He was dealing with financially.

12:20So... But my best friend ended up having to get her leg... Yeah, surgery or something like that. So I went on this college tour with them. It was just a rapper, singer, and a dancer. So that... Because I felt like when I was dancing with Hammers, he was the ultimate. If I couldn't dance for Michael Jackson or Janet, then I was done. I really wanted to go on to film in television. So... And since I didn't... I was kind of over it once I got to LA, because I saw a different side of it. And I... You know, I did a few little videos with Snoop and a couple of other people. But I kept getting into commercials and acting and working behind the scenes. And that started to become my love and my passion. Oh, that's wonderful. Yeah. So what television shows and movies have you

13:22have you paired in so far? Well, I don't know if you're familiar with the proud family. The proud family was the first African-American series on Disney Channel. And a lot of people didn't know that. So, and they're doing a reboot. But I worked with that production company for... Probably about four or five years. And while working as a recording coordinator, I would pitch myself to do voiceovers. Because, you know, I was like, I see the scripts, I see the characters. I wasn't a main character, but I was an incidental character. So I was able to do... You know, I was able to massage my vocal cords and acting at the same time. So that was really a fun time. And then I associate produced a Bollywood film.

14:24Kind of I worked as an associate producer slash some other producing. And I brought a lot of people into that. And that was a genre that I wasn't familiar with, but I was so grateful that I was able to be a part of that. I did a line producing for an independent film with... We tried to do it as a feature and then broke it up into a series. And Carl Payne was one of the main actors on that. Right before he got the big role with Tyler Perry. So... And let's see what other films. A lot of stuff that I did, like a Disney commercial, like I did actually act in these commercials. And I'm sure you found me on my little...

15:25My little documentary on YouTube, which I did in film school. It was like 11 minutes. I didn't even think nothing of it. I just put it up there to see if anybody would be interested. And so hopefully I can make it into a longer story. Because people keep asking, we want more, we want more. So hopefully I can. Yeah, that sounds wonderful. Because I can say you've won it on the plot. I'm using Washington's film. Are you talking about the incident in Colorado? George Wilmerwood from Fanny Man, I love that cartoon. I hope they make a big thing about you. Because I love that. Yeah, that's the... Yeah. Say that one more time. I love that. I'm sure a part of Fanny Man was... No, it's one of them are sure you want. You know, you don't call it a frat. Tell me David's film. Sugar Mama, I love it. I want to one of them. Oh, yeah, that's an outfit. Yeah, so...

16:25It was such a great experience and ed. I'm not sure if you know, but is it getting too loud? Oh, no, it's fine. I can hear you. The one thing about working on animation or in animation, it's a longer process than film and television. And you work for a long time. Basically, you work for like a couple of years, whereas live action may only be a few months depending on the project, or it could be a lot longer if the budget is bigger. But with animation, you're talking about two and three years. And that's how it works. Even when I was touring with Hammer, we would be on tour non-stop for the whole year, two years at a time, and really missed a lot of different holidays. But I was used to that. The short thing, I'm not. Give me a name there a long time so that, you know, I can keep working my creative juices.

17:30Oh, wow, I see. Wow. Wow. So are you working on, so are you working on any of the hundreds coming up this year? Like, like, album, what's the most common this year? Well, currently I am voicing or narrating a full-length book, which is huge, it's like 700 pages. So I'm at the finish line getting it done. I wish I can say what it is, but I should be done like in a, maybe about a week or so, and then I can move on to the next thing. I have been getting offers. I just got an, you know, kind of interview for possible feature, hopefully, fingers crossed as a line producer. So it's so gratifying, and I'm so grateful that people still think to ask me to come and, you know, be a part of their project

18:30or be a part of whatever they're doing because I'm that type of person that reach back to people or help others when I'm in a project or doing a project or working a project or something. It's, you know, I'm all about helping one another. So it just feeds my soul when somebody, you know, wanna just have a conversation with me like yourself. I thought of, absolutely, because I'm so glad I have to talk to Mutian and talk to your face to face now, yeah. So, do you still dance with her at the time? I do, it's so funny. I do love to dance, and I still dance. I may not do it on the scale of touring and in front of people, but I do it at my home. I love that game just dance, so I try to keep my wind going. So I'm in any chance I get to just show some dance skills

19:31I will do, you know. I remember this time when my child was real young and I said to her that, you know, your mom used to dance. She totally didn't believe me, right? So in California, during the Halloween season, they had this thing called Boo in the Zoo, right? And then the radio station comes there and they're playing all this music and pumping up everything, and so they get the parents up there and they're like, hey, we're gonna teach you a routine and we're gonna have you dance, and whoever dances the dance, you win the contest, right? So I was like, this time I'm gonna jump into the contest because my child totally didn't believe me. So, you know, I learned the routine. I was acting as though I'm not, you know, coordinated then all of a sudden I'm blessed to move my child was like looking up at me on stage with her mouth like,

20:34oh my gosh, this my mom, so it's so funny. She totally didn't believe me, even after me showing her videos and stuff, she totally didn't believe me. But so I had to show her a little bit. And when they announced that I was the winner, she come running with on, oh my gosh. So it was a very cute moment. But yeah, I still love the dance. I mean, too, that's one of them here, you know, definitely. So what? You like the dance? I love the dance, yeah, I'm like, you know, I'm not good, but I love to try and dance, you know, singing all, yeah, I do. Oh, that's good, that's good. Yeah, so yeah. You were you were into Hammer back then. Yeah, so I actually saw him on the concert, my cousin saw him on the concert. Boss, he was a great, he keep people on a great show, you know, I wish I could have met him myself, you know, I was like, wow, that's the man, you know, you know, what year was that? I think I was one to a, the two to Jake came out in. Okay, so you saw me, you saw me,

21:35you saw me, little yellow out there doing it. You saw me. Yeah, I saw you, yeah. Yeah, you did trust me. You did. Yeah, I was there during that time. Yeah, yeah, so it's too much, too much, I couldn't match it any now, you know, but I want to meet you in the end at the same time, you know. Yes, yes, for sure. Uh-huh, yes. Yeah, but I love to go to concerts, you know, and see the talent, you know, yeah, it's a blessing. Yeah, so, so what if I, so what if I can get artists, or the dance that want to be the next, do that want to be the next Michelle, Michelle, you know, one of the ends, you know, what if I can get a show? Well, that's a very good question. What I tell kids nowadays grow nowadays, growing up wanting to dance, I say learn all genres of dance. Don't just be tunnel vision. Um, just with hip hop, I was doing jazz, ballet, contemporary.

22:35I did, of course hip hop. I even on my off days, I would do Afrobatics because I just wanted to always take my skills up a level. I say trying to be strong in every genre and not be mediocre, but don't be tunnel vision, especially black kids. Do not just think one way, you know, because they won't tell you learn ballet, learn contemporary, learn Afrobatics, learn anything that can also get you outside of just dancing that you might be in a circus soleil or something like that. You gotta don't think, don't think just, oh, I got to dance for an artist, think broader. You know what I mean? So that would be my biggest advice to kids, just if you're gonna come a dancer, make sure that you have other skills to incorporate that.

23:37That's a wonderful advice. Definitely. That's what we all need to hear. Yeah. So what inspires you? What does your inspiration do? What inspires me? That's a fantastic question. I think what inspires me the most is just seeing where my parents came from, my grandparents came from, and always having that voice in my head of how they would be so positive and inspiring and encouraging. They're no longer here with me, except for my father. He's a definitely an encourager. But, and then another thing that really encourages me is just seeing my daughter, my child go through, you know,

24:37and then another thing is just creating that feels me. You know, that feels me, but just my ancestors are the one that really inspired me just to see what they've gone through and what I've accomplished and probably not even thinking that little me from little projects in SAC would be able to do such a thing. But I always say the world is your oyster and you could just, you know, do anything you want, set your mind to do and don't let circumstances ever deter you from your dreams. Yeah, so I always call for James, I believe in God first, and you can be anything you want to do, you know, so that's fun. That's how I remember my mom, you know, always saying go for your dreams and just do your best, you know, and believe that for God first, you know, so I definitely agree with you because that's something we only need to hear, yeah.

25:40That's wonderful. Your mom was a good woman. She's still alive. And she has to pass away five years to a heart of that, so, but yes, you, but you, but you, you, you, you're a lovely, I wish you could remember. Definitely, you know, had a chance to meet me, meet me. I feel the same way, my mom was the same way. I mean, she was a lovely woman, a lovely, just a sweetheart. You would have loved her too. Yes. Yes. And I think we all, we all need to love, I wanted to, didn't love our mother, she was in charge of it. I know, when I'll be going, you know, so make sure you know, realize you're not there. Appreciate the property you have in your life, in your case, never know what a time is up to. That's right. Yes, I agree. Yes. Family is like so important nowadays. It's just like clinging on to the, you know, those people that mean so much to you during these times. So, you know, you just cling onto family and close friends

26:43that really, really want to see you win and you want to see them win and just love you unconditionally, right? Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. So how did that, so how did that, so how did that kind of, kind of an effect you, I mean, every shit that I was doing? It really didn't affect me, per se, because I, during that time, I'm essential. So I still worked no matter what. And Ashley, I booked a commercial, did a commercial, I've been narrating books. So for me, it just made me to think of other things to do. During this time to keep that my creative, you know, maybe make a ton of money doing it as of yet, but just to keep those creative juices flowing and keeping me on tight with my acting, voiceovers

27:43and all that, it's that sort of. Only maybe emotionally with my child having to take them out of school. And, you know, that's probably the most effective and not being able to, they get excited. And not the year, the year, the year. And not being able to see people on a regular basis. I love the travel, as you know, and I love the travel to other countries. So that was the main thing was traveling to see my significant other from it, you know. So that was. Well, plus if so, what place have you traveled, sir? What places have I traveled to throughout my years? I've been to Paris, London, Italy,

28:46Indonesia, Malaysia, Barbados, Trinidad, Africa now. China, Hong Kong, Japan, we performed at the Tokyo zone. We saved them. Fun facts, fun facts. So we were going to Japan so much where I had learned Japanese fluently. But I ended up losing it because I didn't have nobody to speak with. None of my friends wanted to speak Japanese, you know. So, so Japan must be the village of the different Caribbean countries and Singapore and not Singapore. Singapore, no, Singapore, Singapore, Singapore, I'm sorry, same time, it's one of them, same. Yeah. One of them, same time, same time.

29:48So, I, you know, and yeah, like I said, most recently has been Africa. And I would love, let me tell you, I would love to travel every place in Africa and cultivate the dancing culture in those places. You know, I would love to just go and just learn and teach them. So that's one of my dreams to do. Yeah. You know, yeah, so, and just be a part of that Naliwood. I love the Naliwood. So I would love to be a part of that little genre of music. I mean movies or Hollywood and Naliwood. Yeah. Yeah. I hear you saying, have you gone? Oh, I've gone to Mexico on a cruise. I want to, yeah, I want to want to do this, you know. I used to, I used to live in Florida. I've been on my mother passed in Tampa. So, you know,

30:48because I want to, what I don't like to pull by is I want to show them the Florida, California. Because, you know, yeah, I feel you. Because Boston, but the time, if I can't deal, you know, so I want to try and move to, to the internet, well, it's not a swarm all year round, you know, that's fine dream, you know. Yeah, but I've been, but I've been a Florida, I knew you're after Jersey in the Mexico, Arizona. Yeah, and yeah, so you've been in every place in the States. Yeah. Every place in the States. Yeah. Yes. Hawaii is a nice place. Have you ever been there? Well, no, my customers, but not me, you know, hopefully they get married. I was a guy, you know, I definitely want to go down from, you know, from honeymoon, you know. Yeah. Yeah, or, or maybe, or maybe go, go, go buy me something, you know, but yeah, I definitely want to go to Hawaii. I want to go to Vegas, California. You know, and I go, I was coming, yeah, I do want to, so much, how much space I want to go and do my, well, I think you know, so yeah, you know, yes, I'm not family, I think it's,

31:49well, yeah, yeah, we had a family, you didn't go down to Vegas last month, and I think it's a good time. This was a lot of fun, I do want to hope they get the sum for you, know? Yeah. That's fantastic. That's fantastic. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So really, so really see yourself, you know, years from now, still, still, I'm adding, adding, directing, you know, I'm sorry for maybe years down the line, you know. Right. Well, I am now in Georgia, I'm from California, lives in California forever. So recently, we've moved here for the last two years. So my biggest dream is trying to be a part of the film industry here. It's just trying to crack that net open to be in the place with the right people at the right time. So, I mean, I get so anxious because I miss it so much, you know,

32:50the long hours, the creative, I love being in development. Like the production company I was working for, for the Brown family. I literally, when I was working at that production company, that was like on job, on the job training. And that's when I realized how many different, you know, different positions, or, you know, things that I would have, you know, that I enjoyed. And it made me say, what out of all this, would I love the most? And what I have found, I love acting. And I love line producing. I love development. I like seeing things put together and them coming into its fruition. You know, I love it. Seeing it and it's infancy stayed to, you know, into something amazing. So I like the creative development part of everything, you know? Yeah, I definitely love it.

33:52What I see myself doing is acting and producing. Oh, that's wonderful. That's wonderful. So, so, so, so you're in Georgia, right? So you're giving Georgia, Georgia, Georgia right now, right? Georgia. Yeah, I'm playing in Georgia. Okay. Okay, because my cousin's, my cousin's clearing bell down there too, and I'll say, yeah, that's good, you know. Yeah. Oh, really? Are you familiar? I got my cousin on the soft bike, but down there, we have a big commotion time, you know. So I do want to speak up. We even for sure, most definitely, most definitely. We moved down here so that my daughter can be closer to her father. And that was the reason I was like, hey, she want to be closer to her dad. I said, okay. So here we are. That's wonderful. Because I do plan to come down. So we would definitely meet, you know, people. Yes, please do. You have my number. Are you happy? Yeah, really? I'm in the Northville area, but we have, I'm in Decatur and Stonecrest at times. I'm working in those two locations,

34:52but, you know, please, yeah, I would love to be too in person. Absolutely. And if you call the Boston, I'd love to have you go over for a minute. I'm sorry, you definitely call my husband, then he'll meet me, my friend. You know, so yeah. Okay. Boston has a nice play, but to that, you know, that town, I love that Boston flavor. Yeah. Definitely. Okay, definitely. Yeah. So I just have to have some more questions. Okay. Okay. Okay. So I guess my question is, how did the, this might be kind of close about my ass. How did the George Floyd into the factory? You know, that's what happened to him, George Floyd and everything going on, you know, racist, and how does that affect you as an African woman? But it's so sad. Yeah. I think that whole incident of the whole nation, black, white, mix, whatever,

35:54it was such a sad situation. And you felt helpless. I mean, I wish I was there to have enough strength to push the cops off of him. Yeah. But I can see that everybody was so nervous because they didn't want that result to end, you know, that to happen to them because it's, it's law enforcement. And you would think law enforcement is going to have our best interests at heart. Yeah. It was such a sad moment, and it's still a sad moment. And for a mother, a child, other people to see this man, just, they just took the life out of him right in front of everybody with such a sad moment, you know. And he's gotten justice.

36:55Unfortunately, he's not here to see it. But it affected me as a parent, as a person, as a black person. It affects me deeply. Yeah. A lot of black men in my family. Yes. I understand that. That's a doctor, a doctor for me, you know. That's a problem, you know. I mean, I was crying because it just wasn't totally having said that before that to happen. It was like, me, my nephew, I mean, my dad, you never know, my brother, you know, I mean, being comfortable with you now, this is, I still cry about it because it's not, they're much ahead of me now, make sure they come in. Yeah. Yeah, these cops have been out of control, you know. We have the sun watershed. It's a thing, it's something that we're trying to heal from, but it's hard because this is not the first incident. It continues to happen. So it's like,

37:56putting salt on an open wound over and over and no one's doing anything to make it heal. You know what I mean? They're not doing anything to stop it or change it. You know, and these times being a black man, a black woman too, because there's been a lot of black women who have been affected and their lives taken because of law and forcements disregard for black people. I know. And it's, you know, it's so sad and sitting at the set. It continues to happen. I mean, you know, it doesn't make sense. You know, it was like, you would think that we've gone past, you know, the general cold laws, you know, from what my parents would say to me, I think we're going to get better, you know. I kind of thought that one, that one can present things to change, you know, but then he left and we got Trump, you know, it's like in now we have a bit of a story. You think that there'll be some kind of change.

38:57So you know, I think when Trump was in office, I just think it just was more of an eye opener. It was more blatant. And it had been going on, but nobody has said anything. Yes. It's been going off for years. Like you said, back in Jim Crow, you thought things, no, it's just been quietly happening. And finally, black people are like, enough is enough, you know, so you know, he just shined a light when he got into office. But I don't think he is the reason. I think people who do those things are the reason. Yes. They have to take, they have to take responsibility for the actions they take. Because I tell you, if it was a different color, it would be a different outcome. Yes. It's a different outcome. So they know all well what they're doing.

39:59We cannot blame the other person. We have to blame the person who's doing it's hacking, the killing. You know what I mean? So that's just my take of that. You know what I mean? I mean, he did incite some hate for sure that has been there. He just made it. It's almost like it's almost like working for corporate America and working for the entertainment business. Oh, yeah. You know, there's maybe a slight racism, but in corporate America, they're blatant in your face with it. Yeah. And we like do something. You know what I mean? Yeah. It's that kind of thing. Those are the questions that exactly they're talking to. But I'm afraid that things will change. It's a coincidence right there right there. I was hoping to there for each divine show because that's brother.

40:59So that's like I would join my degree in liberal arts. Just like you would have a some of that, take some of that back on theør. money dog volunteer. something to fall. Is that what you said? College. Yeah, definitely. I definitely encourage that too because it's because I did go back to school and I'm like six classes away from getting my bachelor's but I will encourage I wish I could have did it sooner because it takes me longer. Yeah, so but I think that's just something I have to accomplish but I think it is important that education is and don't just go for your associate. Don't just go for your black bachelor's because now bachelor's are like associates. Go for your PhD. Go for your master's. Oh, give something or some kind of certificate that it's career driven if that's what you want to do. You know, if one wants to do that. You know, I T computer sign something

42:01like that. You know, I definitely think because that's because that's that I'm going to go get my bachelor's and master's too. You know, I think it's important to have that. You know, so it's my because I know like it's much good that you can have a better house, you know, a better job money now. That's a cause of course. That's what we're going to do. You know, so, you know, yeah, that's so true. Totally true. Yes, because being that because because being a star is wonderful but you also have to get to fall back because there's one of the rights I know that after a fact. Exactly. Exactly. And also have a business. Yeah, so yeah, before I moved to I sold my business. I had I've been the machine. So I had a group of many machines. I had many machines and recording studios, our shops, different places. I sold them all before I came. Because just lugging that around from state to state. I was just like, not, but I sold it with single mom. But yeah, yeah, that's good. So what do you mean? So what do we can do to make the world

43:02to make the world better in your opinion? Say that again. I'll tell you what do you think we can change the world to make the world better in your opinion? People have to change their heart. It starts with inside. If people change their heart, we can work on. Yeah, changing the world. I mean, there are some people out there, Black, white, Asian, Hispanic, that are all about the cause and changing the world and making things change. You know, but are they the masses? I mean, I'm glad that we're all coming together to try to make that. We just, I think people just got to, you know, I think those people around them, Jim Crow has to like, you know, but I think it has a lot to do with

44:04self and heart. They have to change the heart. I want to say change the heart that can change the world. Yeah, that's just that I want it. There's a lot of people who want that. Yeah, yeah, definitely. That'll be blessed if you can change the world. That's definitely true. Have you ever thought about running for president someday? Probably. What's that? I was asked if you thought about running for president of Dad State. That's a lot of responsibility and that's a whole lot of weight. You know, that is not something that I've ever aspired to do or be. But I do respect those people who get out there and do that in campaign and kick the doors down, pay the, you know, walk the pavement and make those things. I mean, because those are some of the things that you can correct change, if you be part of the political change,

45:06you can change. So maybe something on a smaller level. Yeah. Yeah, that's that's a whole lot of I don't mind power. You know, I'm a Leo. So I like a lot of attention. You know, but yeah, I guess I understand. Yeah. So what is what what is what like to be famous to be famous and meet stars? I mean, because I see him in TV as I saw him constantly. It's like, you're, you're, you're, everyone. You know, I mean, you go at all. You got, you know, you're great dancer. You get money. What's that? You know, to be a little, I guess I'll have a lot of talking. I'll say that last part. I was asking what it's like to do to do that lifestyle, you know, have fame, money, power. I mean, what's that to be? You know, because people, so my friends, recognize you, recognize you on TV. So like, yeah, so, you know, yeah, I'm.

46:08You know, let me be, you know, I'm not this huge person, but it's, it's, it's a good feeling. I mean, like I said, I'm a, I'm a scientist. So I like the attention, the creative, but, you know, I like all that. If somebody recognizes me, I'm just, I'm just grateful, you know, I'm humbled. But, you know, it has its ups and downs. It's not always what people think is, you know, unless you have that residual coming in or royalty coming in or the regular basis. It's not all, I mean, you're just like the next regular person trying to get the next gig or next job in between the next gig. So that's the reality, you know, that's the reality. So it's like I'm always pounding down a door to try to get the next gig

47:09in while I'm working and taking care of my child, you know, and so, yeah. I see. Do you still convert to MSc Hammer sometimes? I do. In fact, I saw him a few months ago in St. Louis. My best friend surprised me and I think I was going to run a project chief surprised me with the concert and it was him. And so we were so excited to see one another. It's had been a long time. So, but if I need to call him, pick up the phone, he will take my call. But it was a great, it was a great meeting. We stayed and just chatted the whole way, you know, a whole time and just kind of, you know, reminisced on the things that, you know, being on, they were trying to get me up there to dance. I was like, no, no, no, no, no. For my best friend, she was like, the dance and I was like, no, I'm good. I'll meet y'all backstage.

48:10So, yeah, it was a good meeting. I was really happy, very happy. It was a pleasant surprise. Mm-hmm. Well, the touch was at there. That's pretty enough. That's pretty. Yeah. I think that's important. You don't burn those bridges because you never know when you got to go back across them. Yeah, that's true. I didn't agree. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Yes. Okay, so, okay, I do want to do one, ask you some questions now. Do you want any of you to meet? Oh, sure. How long have you been doing this? Well, I started this podcast in 2018, as I went to Boston and never in that book. I got trained in film production, soundboard engineering, how to, I'm really a production, it was fun. So, once I got certified, I got certified in the fashion, they're like, wow. And this is like, I'm sure I was like, well, this is wonderful. You learn how to do cameras, meet wonderful people at the end.

49:10I got to, you know, it's just, it was like, amazing change of my life, you know, to meet, to be able to have this kind of job in fun and learn more about the business you know. And it was great. So, and so, so, so, so, so, it's a sign, I guess, show I interviewed you. I think if you're a matter of you know, I'm Maya Ashanti. Yeah. Oh, that's awesome. And that's really good. Yeah, so I think I blessed them to have this show in and reach out to people in that working out. So, you know, and then I'm at the college and I'm especially being like, now, I don't go from, go from the batch down and so, yeah, so I think I'm, that's, you know, to go find James, you know, I'm also going to, I'm also applying, also audition for a plant in movie called, I want to depth somebody from about, about when he Houston, so that's going to come out and boss him. So, for the, have, have a small planet, you know, Oh, that's good. That's good. So, and so, hopefully, so, hopefully, you know, things are happening. So, you know, so I'm like, that's good. I was talking about, well, I can appreciate your persistence.

50:12You were very persistent. I love it. You're like, I'm going to get this interview. Well, I really have enjoyed it and, you know, I definitely got to come to Boston and meet you or when you come here, definitely got to link up. Absolutely. Yeah. Make sure you do that. Master's you're talking about is going to be in journalism. It might be in the book ads or, or the book ads, or maybe television film production. Yeah. But some, some more on there. So, yeah, and yeah, I plan to do that. Trying to make 10 or two years, but I'm going to do it. You know, because I don't want to make my mom proud of it. My sub proud, you know, and so I sent a far back. You know, and yeah, so that's exciting. Is all your family in Boston? I, I, well, my cousins are, I love my cousin here. And my, and my, you know, and my cousin in the Mexican clone. I cousin, I was on a cloud 40. And so, and I also, sometimes, I'm in an training there.

51:14Oh, in training that? Oh, yeah. So, yeah. So, that's from my daughter's father's from training that. But I'm going to try and, but I'm going to try and, but, I'm about to flaw it. It's because, because, like, I'm on a job. I'm honestly in flawed, you know, because you just over the cold, right? Yeah, I can't do the quotes. I'm trying to happen this year, you know, so, for me, maybe a little, a little school down down down there, down Georgia, a flawed, if you're fine. Yeah, well, it's for me not so. Yeah. Oh, that's good. That's good. That's good. So, how, let me ask you this. How was it interviewing Beyonce's father? Well, actually, the one she was, it was wonderful. I, I guess, in the atmosphere tonight, you know, interview. I think you sent it to me. Yeah. I thought, yeah, I saw it. Well, he was real. I got a fun fact. Okay, so, when we were just at the post, I mean, pre-production of the proud family, we had Salon and Destiny's Child

52:15do the opening track. So, because at the time I was working as a recording coordinator, I had to be in the studio the whole time, right? So, the whole production was super excited that Beyonce and her crew was coming and her sister and Destiny's Child. They were super excited. So, they like flooded the studio. And one, I can't work like that. The only people that needed to be there was myself, the director, and the executive producers. So, they kicked out the rest of the people. Because, Matthew knows, I think, Beyonce had calls or her mom had called. And Matthew knows, came in all black, had his briefcase, and kicked everybody out. And he was like, my child cannot, well, he didn't say my child has me.

53:15She could not, you know, it was like too much, too many people in the studio. And very much so. So, it was just myself, and the executive producer, and the director. And when I tell you, people don't really realize how talented Beyonce is, well, they know. But to see her in the studio and how she works, that's the side people don't really see. They don't see that side of her. She is like the brains behind everything. And she knows how every note should sound. She knows how the production needs, I mean, she is an amazing talent. People just don't really get that up and close personal experience. And I was so grateful that I was able to see that witness, you know, because that woman is super talented.

54:16It's like, I'm like, that's just like, when I'm at print, this is just like, oh my gosh, these people are just like, amazing, you know? So, but that was a fun thing. Matthew came in there like, Gary Buster's like, get out. No, he did it respectfully, but it was just, it was good to see that she had that backup. But I guess that was the time when they were just super, you know, because we were still working together. But yeah, because yeah, what if I was a baby? Back up Beyonce and Bonson, she was so nice to me. I met her looking at her, she was so nice to me. I was like, my god, are you so beautiful? She's like, thank you for giving that to her. And she was like, wow, she has a hub being there. You know, and yeah, it was just a blessing to meet her. I was like, wow, this is Beyonce hugging me. Yeah, she's super nice. She's super nice. I'm just grateful that I got to experience that moment with them.

55:20They were all, they were all amazing. You know, this is a launch and Michelle and let's say I don't know, Kelly, Kelly. Yeah, they were all great. Yeah. Well, yeah, I actually interviewed at the top, what was from that, from that, from that, and I thought to the, to the toilet, I like it. I came on that figure. So yeah, so she was nice to you, no? Yeah. So I thought that's what you're doing. Yeah, so I was so far in the toilet. And what, what I thought about how I came out, and if you'll, I'll tell the woman, and then Matthew knows in you. And like I said, but the first part was going to be Beyonce. I never hugged you. She was so nice to me. So I'm like, I've heard the beat again. I don't forget you know, that, you know, she was. Now she's been asking me to be able to meet Maya, a shunting and I couldn't speak to many other stars. You know, so it's from Dressa. Wow. Yeah. That's fantastic. Well, you know, any other time you want to talk to you, just let me know. Absolutely.
