She served many years as legal counsel on Capitol Hill to the Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Constitution and the former Ranking Member of the Commercial and Administrative Law Subcommittee, advising on the oversight of federal agencies. Prior to her career in Washington, she worked as a corporate litigator, and as an Assistant Vice President for a national bank.Doug is the President of Deason Capital Services, LLC, the Deason family office, as well as the President of The Deason Family Foundation. DCS manages family assets including a substantial holding of Xerox Corporation and Conduent Inc. shares, controlling interest in Dallas Capital Bank, municipal bonds, holdings in the global tax services firm Ryan, LLC as well as holdings in Foreland Resources, LLC, an oil and gas operating company. He also serves on the boards of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, the Lone Star Justice Alliance, the Texas Israel Alliance, the Florida Foundation for Correctional Excellence, The Executive Board of the Bobby Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University and the Deason Center for Criminal Justice Reform at the Dedman Law School SMU.Doug has advised the White House as well as several governors on criminal justice reform policies.
