Famously, when they were in the bubble in Louis Williams reportedly to health so he can get some wings from Magic City and he broke the rules of the bubble. So what they had planned didn't involve any dancers or dancing at the game. We're going to have TI, the rapper from Atlanta, perform at halftime and that's still going
to happen and the plans also were for the lemon pepper wings famous at Magic City to be sold at the Atlanta Hawks game and that's still going to happen. But they were going to have a lot of recording of a podcast that was going to feature Hawks primary owner Jamie Gertz TI and Magic City founder Michael Barney. That has been scrapped. That's not going to happen and they have discontinued the merchandise that they put out because we first talked about it. The Magic City hoodie had the Hawks patch on one side and I don't know, I don't know if there was NBA logos on or anything like that. They have discontinued that but people who have purchased their hoodies, they're still going to get their hoodies. Okay. And of course, once you say we're going to promote Magic City and those tickets out there, those ticket prices go up. And people have purchased those ticket prices to go to that special promotion and you know, the concert and whatever to go and now that's not going to happen, but they're definitely
not going to refund any money as far as tickets will go and ticket prices like the person who had their tickets and sold them at an inflated cost because of Magic City. They were running off with their profits, but they did mention this a while back saying they were going to promote this and they went through, but I guess because the first person to come out and speak badly about it was Luke Kornett from the Spurs. Yes. And then our whorfer came out and said the same thing. And so the NBA put out a Adam Silver put out a statement here is the statement when we became aware of the Atlanta Hawks schedule promotion. We reached out to Hawks leadership to better understand their plans and rationale while we appreciate the team's perspective and their desire to move forward. We have heard significant concerns from a broad array of leaks, stakeholders, including fans, partners and employees. I believe canceling this promotion is the right decision for a broader NBA community. Another thing about this is, like you knew exactly what they were going to do in the Hawks
organization said, Hey, we let them know exactly what we were going to do and everything was a okay. And then you hear some people push back on it, push back and then the NBA says, Oh, whoa, after careful consideration, we might piss off five people, right, we're not going to do this. I'm a little more. I'm sure it is. I'm sure that that's especially in that area of the country, 100% that's a controversial thing to do to promote an adult entertainment establishment at an NBA game. It really truly is, but you do, I don't know, you kind of blur the lines of, so what money is acceptable to promote? Because if I'm going getting money from this casino or some people that really think that that's the devil. Of course. You're showing them all right, all this other stuff that you're going to promote words to limit to it. And again, you don't have the celebration of all the dancers that have time putting on the show. Like they set up five different stages on the court and they were going to take off their
clothes. Right. They have people down there throwing dollar bills or anything like that. It is something specific for that area and it is an icon of institution. So I kind of go both ways on this. Because when I first heard I'm disappointed, oh, man, it's fun. It's funny to me that that is big enough in that area in Atlanta to have this special night and it's against the magic, like it totally makes sense. I can get the people in the room trying to put this together and go, man, that's kind of funny and it's kind of great. And I can understand the pushback of me really promoting an adult establishment, but I just don't think if you have your kid there and your kid saying, oh, magic city, what's this all about? And you, I don't know, I guess I'm trying to put myself in the mind like if you had your son at that game and they said, your son said, oh, what's magic city? Why are they doing this? And you say, hey, it's in a, it's a strip club. That's famous in Atlanta and they're just kind of telling what it is. And I think some parents may be a little uncomfortable telling their kids what this game
is all about. I would probably think the Dutch disgusting, honestly, but probably so. And you just have like, well, it's not. And then you kind of just go about your business right and watch the game. I would. Yeah. I don't feel like every single break is going to be something about, you know, magic city and promoting this and if you miss two free throws, you get a free lap dance or something like that. And instead of a chicken sandwich, I don't think they're doing anything like that. No, like the women of the club, we're not going to be there doing anything. Magic city. And we got it too, man, Lord of mighty. And we dumped it. You need a couple more hours of sleep, sir. Clear and clean his day. You don't like the place. You don't have to call him that. Magic. Just write a bad. You are something, dude. Magic city. That was clear as day. Wow. Oh, man. That's a good little last bomb. It's just so plain and so cool.
Man. I don't even know. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's both sides. And I guess the NBA has to air on the side of caution because the, I guess the louder the opposition, the opposing side of it can get a little bit louder than the people that approve. If you approve, if you're not saying anything, yeah, and I've seen definitely arguments for both sides. And come on. Now it is iconic. And it's way more than what people think as far as the culture of Atlanta. And I just don't know if you can get away with it in every single city. I don't know if there's a place in Dallas that's here that you can say, all right, we're going to do this for this ball. It's not going to work in every single town because there's not one here that there's several that anybody who's aware of them can name or you've driven by or I would say
it's more in this area of Northwest Highway. Like Northwest Highway in 35 is where the bulk of those are kind of lined up. Right. But most people, even if you know that, you may not know the names of them. Man, it just fits so perfectly though with the Orlando magic coming to town. Magic City, everybody's heard of it. Yep. Everyone knows and why and what they're famous for and if that's still going to be a part of it, then it's like a half promotion. And I wonder what the problem with the podcast was. I guess because the owner whose nickname is magic was going to be there, but what is he going to talk about? He's like, well, I'd like to break down our prospects. We recently acquired Tiffany and Tiffany coming in. She's five seven. I'm telling you guys, you're really going to like looking at this. And then the Hawks owner is supposed to be like, I'll trust me. I've been to VIP many times. Yeah. Oh, Tiffany, you are. Tiffany. Oh, God. I'll be there after the game. Come on out. I mean, I don't know how you do a podcast, but I would assume it's more of just talking about
right. And how I got iconic and all those other things. But you know what, NBA say we have the air on the side of caution. It's not going down and I am a little disappointed about that because maybe that's a game that I try and tune into just for the heck of it just to see what the heck is going on with it. And now it is no more. All right. We'll talk a little more NBA in the OSS. We have masks and stars playing tonight. And we'll get to that. We do it every single day at 1110 for other sports stuff coming up next a skit. No, no. That's the NFL at 1050 coming up next is the news. We're Travis. Got some updates on Malaysian Airlines flight 370. The ticket gives a shout out to all those P1s that can tell the difference between a hog and a Pokemon. Sorry.
