The Grumpy Ref Discusses FIFA Law changes for 2020 Soccer Season - 2nd Half

The Grumpy Ref stops by to discuss FIFA Law changes we'll notice in the 2020 soccer season.  Mike Mears aka The Grumpy Ref has refereed at various levels, including the NCAA.  He talks to Tim Van Horn about several changes to the rules. You might already know about some of those. One of those most recognizable changes has been to how a team taking a goal may play the ball.  In addition to those, other restarts seen a change or two as well. Beside those obvious amendments, he'll also tell us about some FIFA Law changes that either you didn't know went into effect or are so mundane that you might not have even noticed.  Even the pre-match coin toss got a makeover for the 2020 soccer season.  

The Grumpy Ref will do more than simply walk us through the changes.  He will share his thoughts on each new change.  As a match official who has already worked in matches under the new FIFA Law Changes for the 2020 soccer season, Mears shares his first-hand experiences with us. For instance, which changes does he feel have improved the game?  Which changes have had little to no impact?  Any changes which are head scratchers to him?  The good, the bad and the ugly. Oh, and it wouldn't be a Grumpy Ref chat without him sharing at least one of his pet peeves.  In this episode he gets all worked up over that little spot 12 yards from goal.  Actually, it's not that mark on the pitch so much as it is a broadcaster with whom he takes exception.

Following the chat, Brodee Scott and Tim go into Added Time.  They will talk about the European schedule and how schedule congestion has become a problem for some clubs. The problem has become so prevalent recently that many "big" clubs often hesitate fielding their strongest eleven players for fear of fatigue or injury.
