My guest today is Peter Wall, CEO of Argo. Argo is a publicly-traded blockchain technology company focused on large-scale cryptocurrency mining. Headquartered in London, England, Argo is the only cryptocurrency mining company listed on the London Stock Exchange. Their energy-efficient, powerful mining operations are strategically located throughout North America. Peter was a member of the management team that founded Argo, and was the vice president of operations since the group's beginning - responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the mining organization as well as the management of the software development team. He became CEO in Jan 2020. In addition to his work with Argo, Peter has had a varied career including working as a technology entrepreneur, journalist, and filmmaker. In our discussion, we cover the mining industry from a high level. We discuss the mining ban in China and the immediate/possible long-term ramifications from the ban. Peter explains immersion mining and the financialization of the mining industry. We go on to discuss why Texas is becoming a huge mining hub and various nuances of the Texas power grid.
