The Gospel according to Jess

About this episode

Oh how transformative gospel music can be. However when you are queer the church institution is one of the most isolating. Trying to water who you are out of fear of not being accepted is one thing but straying away from the faith seems to be the solution until Jess performed in the Color Purple Broadway show and it brought her back to it all.

.......................

Tune in as we listen to Jessica Johnson as we talk about how the power of gospel music is so transformative. In addition catch Jess as she and the community in Norristown shines the light on the weekend of December 15-17th at Theatre Horizon. There are several performances to come out and hear the joy of the season in music.

Tickets to the show are available here: https://theatrehorizon.org/holiday-concert-2023/

..........................

I also talk about taking care of you during this holiday season, the rules of Christmas, and an adoration to not overspend and stay grounded this holiday season. Also for those who are grieving during this time or having a hard time you aren't alone and I talk about that too by also giving honor to my Great Grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Sims who I miss dearly. I dedicate this episode to you both.
