750, the president of the United States will address the nation along with the military coming up at noon central time. You will hear that right here on KCMO talk radio during the Vinsho. So expect to be interrupted today for the president of the United States alongside the military. They will be having a joint press conference today after a very busy weekend as we enter week six of Operation Epic Fury. It's that time of the morning. It's time for the good, the bad and the ugly. Or the good has to be this amazing rescue mission in Iran over the weekend. It was a race against time to find a downed U.S. Airmen in the hills of Iran. This is an unbelievable story that we're just starting to learn some of the details of from the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. And the details are just absolutely
incredible. So here's part of what the New York Times reported over the weekend on this front. So you have the two crew members ejected from the fighter jet just seconds after it was hit by Iranian fire. The first fighter jet lost two enemy fire in the war crashed violently into the ground. The Air Force officers were deep in hostile territory on Friday morning alone in armed only with pistols. The plane's pilot was in constant communication with his unit and rescued about six hours later by a force that included attack planes and helicopters that came under heavy fire. But the aircraft's weapon system officer was missing. In the chaos, he had become separated from the pilot setting off a vast search that became the primary focus for the U.S. military troops and the CIA, CIA. Surveillance planes and drones combed the area near where the plane had crashed, but could not find the weapons officer or any sign that he was alive. The military described him as status unknown. On the ground in Iran, the downed officers mission boiled down
the two words evasion and survival surrounded by potential enemies. He hiked up a 7,000 foot ridge line and wedged himself into the crevice where he hoped he would be safe until American forces found him. U.S. Central Command was prepared to release a statement that the plane had gone down and the pilot had been rescued. But just as they were about to release the statement, U.S. officials got a lock on the weapons officer's location via a beacon he was carrying. Air Force fighter pilots and weapons officers are equipped with beacons and secure communications devices for coordinating with their rescuers. But they're trained to not signal their location constantly and to restrict the use of the beacon which can be spotted by the enemy. Central Command officials immediately scraped the statement that they were planning to release. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called President Trump told them that as long as there was a chance they could find the weapons officer, they needed to keep information about the pilot's rescue secret.
So Iran is looking for this guy as well. They want to obviously take them hostage and use him as leverage in this negotiation with the United States. So for the U.S. military and the CIA, they are trying to basically beat the Iranians to find this officer and they did it. The CIA developed a deception plan to buy the military and the airmen himself some time. They spread the word through Iran that the airmen had been found and was being moved out of the country in a ground convoy. The hope was that the Iranians would shift their search from the place where the airmen was thought to be and focus on the roads out of the region. It worked. The CIA operation caused confusion among the Iranian forces hunting for the airmen. And then of course the U.S. military was able to go in there led by elements of seal team six with Delta Force commandos and army rangers on standby if needed. And they were able to rescue
this guy who was who had wedged himself in the mountains of Iran. Just an amazing story. And of course he goes down the plane goes down on good Friday. He is rescued in Iranian time on Easter Sunday morning. I mean, it is something out of a movie the way that they got this guy and saved him and rescued him. And I hope I hope that that is not overlooked by the president today when he addresses the nation. The bad from the weekend something coming out of Johnson County the sheriff's office is warning about a fake court notice scam that is being sent to people across Johnson County also an issue in parts of Miami County. It says on the top of the I guess PDF that you get via text message state of Kansas. It has a case number on it. It's got a judge named Michael Rodriguez who does not exist. And it's asking you to pay off a ticket. Now Mark, you got this, right? You
you got this through text message yesterday. Did you not? Yes. Did you know it was a scam right away? It looked fishy from the start. I've taken all of our exams here and I've passed every single one flying color. So I'm not about to fall for a scam. But I know how, you know, some people might be confused. I know. It gives you a court hearing date, all the information, location. There's a QR code on there as well. QR codes are not used to collect payments in court. So don't fall for it. When I saw the QR code, that was my immediate, all right, spam and delete. Good for you, Mark. Good for you. John would have passed it as well. I noticed in the information they gave out, they were saying that the numbers were irregular or something. I'm like, well, I wouldn't know that in the judge name. I'm like, I wouldn't know that the QR code is going to be your big giveaway. I would agree. Yes. They said here, all the case numbers are the same. Well, how would you know that unless you compare with somebody else? Exactly. And there's not a judge named Michael Rodriguez
of the Johnson County District Court. Okay. Well, who's Googling their judge at the Johnson County District Court? So just know, just know that it is a scam in Johnson County if you get that. All right. The ugly from the weekend wrapping up the hour, Oklahoma city police say officers allegedly involved in an April fool's prank that led dispatchers to believe a fleeing driver had thrown a baby out of a car window and run a person over are now on administrative leave. If you're a cop and you're doing April fool's jokes, you're an idiot. Never mind doing it and joking about a baby being tossed out of a car window. That says so much about your judgment. Forget putting them on leave, throw them out, fire them, the pensions gone, everything take it off the table. That is horrible, horrible job by
those Oklahoma city police officers. There's your good bad nugly. Hey there. I'm Paula Pan. I help people make the smartest money decisions possible. Do not ever worry about your salary. You need enough to make sure that you aren't in a bad financial position. Once you have that, your salary becomes moot. What matters from that point forward, upside gains, any type of ownership stake or ownership potential, that's the money. Remember, you can afford anything, just not everything. Afford anything. And that money over the past couple of years has made a pretty good yield. Pre-pandemic money was making zero. Now it's actually making something, but that's starting to go down, down, down. I love how we can play the fact that inflation's been really high. As a positive, but if you're a saver, you know what that means? Sitching. Sover lining, Joe. Sover lining.
