The God In Me

My sweet husband Hugh talked all the time about the gift we have in us as a gift that we're meant to give the world. That's something he said all the time. He said if someone is unkind to me or they're not good to me, or they don't love me, it really doesn't hurt me because I was made to give away what God has given me. The thing is, when you hurt someone when you're unkind, you think it's justified. Anytime someone is not better off by having been in your presence, whether you're talking to them, whether you are on the phone, whether you greet them, whether they are a friend or a family member, you do not get away with that. Let me remind you if anyone is not better off because of being in your presence, then you are responsible for that.

We're responsible for how we treat all of God's kids, because there's a God in us that wants to glorify and honor all of God's kids.

Today I share two parts of my daughter Britney’s poems from her book We Are All Wild Flowers, and then my affirmation that was spurred from her poetry.
