You know, so it's hard to lose weight when your hormones are disrupted, especially your sex hormones, because they're very involved in metabolism and burning sugar out of your blood and burning fats and things like that in metabolism. So that's interesting and really important to understand. Now, if we go back to the different categories here, I want to talk about sunscreens. So that's the food, right? We talked a little bit about the foods. As you can imagine, we can go into all kinds of depth. I didn't even talk about mold astrogens, but that's, you know, there's some grains that have a lot of mold, you know, in particular in the America, we store our grains in these big food silos, and there tends to be a little bit of mold, sometimes a lot of mold. And those mold toxins can act like estrogen in your body also. I'm not going to go through all the research on that, but a lot to be talked about with those food chemical astrogens, but let's move on to sunscreen. Now, sunscreen has gotten a lot better since 2017 when I wrote my book.

Some countries have made oxybenzone illegal. It's been frowned upon a lot more and more, but the point is it's still out there. And then there's a lot of other questionable ingredients in sunscreens, especially in the term fragrance. A lot of these companies are legally allowed to use the word fragrance and put all kinds of nonsense in these products. So just be aware. The word fragrance is kind of a sneaky way to get around some of the laws. But, you know, sunscreen, I mean, I'm not kidding. If you go to Walmart right now and you look up the sunscreens, most of them are going to have some of these benzone chemicals in them, but it's not just the sunscreen. Shampoo companies put it in their shampoos, and they brag about it. They see commercials and say, like, this, this is our hair, and it's all damaged without shampoo. And this is the, this is our hair with shampoo, and it's all nice and neat. They brag about how their shampoo protects you against ultraviolet degradation. Why?

Because they're putting sunscreen chemicals, same with the lauderdoturgent, they're putting sunscreen chemicals in the lauderdoturgent. So again, it's not just about the sunscreen, but the sunscreen is the worst if you're using it all the time because you're rubbing it on your skin. So this made the news after I published my book, again, this is 2019 that finally came out. And my book was 2017, and I came down hard on a lot of these sunscreen chemicals because the research was there. It was very clear in my mind. It was acting like estrogen. So it was amplifying a lot of these estrogenic impacts. Sunscreen enters, bloodstream after just one day of use. This is CNN, and then they had other news sources talking about more specifics here. This was a pilot study, by the way, this 2019, they did a pilot study on sunscreen chemicals that had been around for decades, right? This is the problem, right? In America, when we assume these chemicals are okay, until they're proven to be terrible, that's backwards.

We should assume these chemicals are terrible and then prove very thoroughly that they're okay. That's what I think about all these artificial chemicals that are not found in nature like oxybenzone. You don't find oxybenzone in strawberries or kale or red meat. You find it in sunscreen. Why? Because it's a petroleum-based man-made artificial chemical. So here's in this USA Today article, they say, sunscreens have not been subjected to standard drug safety testing, like I said. And you're not going to hear this from the FDA. You're going to hear it from the former FDA chairman and he said, despite decades of widespread use, like I was saying, this is kind of a joke, really. And here's what's really crazy, right? When you would do one application of sunscreen, it far exceeds the government's safety limits with one application and then they said three ingredients were made in the bloodstream for seven days. We're talking about rubbing on sunscreen one time and seven days later, you've got crazy

levels of oxybenzone. And if you change the units, right, on this one, they're using 20 nanograms per milliliter. That's how much they found in people's blood. As you can see here on my screen, my screen shows blocking that a little bit from you, but I'm going to move that. If you change the units and you make them relevant to human physiology, right, when you do a blood test and you measure estrogen in women. The units are nanograms per liter. They're not nanograms per milliliter, they're NG slash L, which I put on my screen here. So this is literally 20,000 nanograms per liter of oxybenzone in people's bloodstreams. From one application of sunscreen, that's crazy. As a researcher, you know, who recognizes some of the blood test results and the implications of this, this is insane. Now, they also have shown dermal uptake, meaning this stuff goes through your skin.

When it's coming from your loiter detergent, benzophenone 3, by the way, they make this super complicated. This is always a challenge when you're talking about artificial estrogen chemicals, as there's a lot of terms. So oxybenzone, the stuff found in sunscreen, is a synonym for benzophenone 3, BP3. So you can see why that's kind of obnoxious, right, they make these different names. One of the reasons, by the way, that people talk about BPA so much is because BPA is easy to remember, everybody talks about BPA. One of the reasons not a lot of people talk about phallates is because it's spelled P-H-T-H-A-L-A-T-E-S. It's very technically challenging word to say. It's hard to spell. It's hard to remember. Benzophenone 3 is the same thing, oxybenzone is the same thing. For me, it's kind of easy, because I know what benzones are, and I know what benzes, and I know on these chemical terms, but for most people, that's ridiculous, right? You don't spend all your life reading scientific research, and nor should you. So the point is, this is sunscreen chemicals from Laundit detergent.

They're going into people's bloodstream just because they're on the clothing, they're going through the skin, just like hormones do. If you use estrogen cream, it's going to go through your skin. If you use testosterone cream, it's going to go through your skin and your bloodstream. And by the way, that's also the new car smell, like I mentioned on that page there. When people come into this new car smell, they like that, right? They'll think it's great. That's plastic. That's sunscreen chemicals and plastic chemicals combining. And it triggers your brain a little bit, like your brain kind of likes that. People like that new car smell. Part of it is just the recognition that you got a new car, but part of it is we're attracted to these estrogen smells a little bit. Just our brains are triggered in a positive way from natural estrogen. But we're basically manipulating that process in an unnatural way with these plastic chemicals or these sunscreen chemicals. So let's talk about fragrances and then it includes phthalates and parabens and phthalates. We're going to talk about plastic later, but fragrance is, right?

So we're still kind of talking about that new car smell. Parabins are a class of petroleum-based chemicals. They were on the grass list that generally recognized a safe list despite minimal, minimal testing and there's literally hundreds of parabens. So do you really think they've done extremely thorough studies on all of the parabens that are out there, of course, not? But they act like estrogen. There's a lot of data on this and obviously it's complicated because there's hundreds of different ones. So you have to go through all the different ones and try and piece together and then you have to realize there's a lot of gaps in the studies. They're not doing research on a lot of them. All parabens are banned in Europe. They're totally legal in the United States. In fact, what's really crazy, I don't think I have this on here, but I had right about this in my book. Many of these parabens are illegal in China and they're still legal in America. Should tell you something, especially if you've ever been to China and you've seen the crazy pollution and some of the rivers and things.

They're often hidden in the label, like I said before, that they hide it under the term perfume and that's legally allowed. And sometimes they don't hide it. Like if you go to the grocery store and you get corn tortillas or whatever, they're sometimes in the foods. They put them in foods, not because they're fragrance, but because they're preservatives. They kill bacteria. By the way, they're probably killing your gut bacteria too, right? They kill bacteria. Excuse me. One study, one study of over 150 people found parabens in 95% of umbilical cords. This is kind of like these microplastics, right? We're basically finding it everybody and not just pregnant women, but actually in the umbilical cords, meaning it's getting transferred to the fetus. So it's a problem. It's very pervasive and of course, fragrance use increased parabens levels in the blood by over 150%. So you've got to be really careful with your fragrances out there. I'm not saying I'm not anti-fragurants by the way, I'm just anti-fragurances that have

synthetic estrogen mimicking chemicals. These were even found in polar bears. This was really crazy. They did a study in northern Alaska and they took a bunch of biopsies and they tested for different things. It's like the microplastics. You've got them all over the globe. It's because we're washing these fragrances down our sinks in through our drains. We're polluting the waterways. That's circulating the globe. Remember these currents in the ocean are kind of like blood vessels. They're moving in the water. They're moving these contaminants um and it's in the dolphins and the whales of course. The polar bears, right? The polar bears, it's working up the food chain in the middle of nowhere. So remember earlier how I said it's hard to do a study on soy and soy estrogen because so many people are saturated with estrogen chemicals. Then when you add a little bit of soy it's kind of washed out. You're not seeing the effects because they're already so saturated polar bears. So phallates in cosmetics too. This is crazy because phallates are technically plasticizers.

They're used in the production of plastics but they put them in cosmetics. I've asked chemists about why they're doing this and they say it's because it's a preservative of course. It's cheap of course. It's a filler but also because it carries fragrance farther through the air. That's what they say. But whatever the thing is, whatever the justification is, they are using phallates in cosmetics. The FDA, they have a list, a long list, like a massive list. I didn't put all of the list on here because it's so massive but they have a list of all these companies that are putting phallates in their cosmetics and it's not an exhaustive list by any means because there's always new products coming out and there's companies that sneak this stuff in and they don't admit to it under the term fragrance. So when you talk about fragrance you got to remember, it's not always going to be on the label. You got to be careful. You want to trust the companies and things. But let's talk about plastics, right?

So we're still talking about phallates and then we're going to add some stuff about a BPA which you've probably heard of bisphenols, bisphenol A, bisphenol F, bisphenol F, whatever. But phallates just like the parabens, we're not talking about one thing and we're talking about a massive class of chemicals making it very difficult to research because there's not a lot of funding, not a lot of interest in finding out problems from these chemicals. Not a lot of companies want to sponsor a million dollar studies to look at one of these phallates. So once again the assumption is that it's safe until they prove that it's bad and that's reversed. That should be reversed in my opinion. So they don't just increase astrogen, by the way, they also increase aroma taste. If you've ever heard of aroma taste, that's an enzyme in your bodies that converts testosterone to astrogens so they increase your natural levels of astrogen. I already mentioned there in the personal care products, just like parabens, when you use

lotion and fragrance, you see incredibly high levels of phallates and people's urine and then their blood and things like that. This one example found that lotion users had 111% higher levels of phallates in their urine compared to people that didn't use lotion. Why? Because again, cheap filler, preservative, it kills bacteria, so they throw a lot of the stuff in to use it as a preservative. Now here's where it gets really crazy. I call it a research nightmare. If you have a single phallate and you spend a million dollars to research safety, the problem is when you're exposed, it might be, it might look good, it might be like, oh, it's safe. Awesome. Rock on. The problem is those phallates can get broken down into our bodies, into a whole bunch of different byproducts, and you can see that illustrated here. You've got phallates and phallate four or five cis dihydriol, our hydrodial, lots of crazy terminology. Nobody's going to remember any of those words, by the way.

But that's what's happening. So now all of a sudden, we've got to study each individual byproduct that's broken down from the original phallate if we're going to be totally honest and understand if these chemicals are really messing with our hormones. You see the problem here? So it's a challenge. It's a mess. They're everywhere already, and our hormones are going down. Breast cancer is exploding, obesity is going up, right? And it's not just calorie counting, that's the blame. You know what I mean? Our ancestors for thousands of years weren't counting calories. So they did some studies on, of course, everywhere. You've seen this in the news now with the microplastics. But what's really disturbing is they did some studies on children in child care facilities. And of course, if you've ever been in a professional child care facility, you see plastic all over the floors, plastic toys, plastic plastic plastic.
