The Essential Components of Collaboration

About this episode

In this episode, we reflect upon the essential components necessary for fostering an integrated, synergistic, creative and collaborative environment in which individuals are empowered to give their best selves, and the natural consequence is collective success.

The challenges to collaboration are many, but I like to focus upon a quote from Chet Scott, founder of Built To Lead, who says:

“Conflict is really only a conversation to be had.”

And as leaders, we must foster and encourage these conversations to bring about collaboration in which both the needs of the individuals with whom we have been entrusted are tended to while also bringing about success of the group, ministry or organization for which we are responsible for leading.

When we accomplish this, we will discover a myriad of opportunities for intergrated, synergistic, creative collaboration, and we will find that we are capable of accomplishing something much greater than we can on our own—the very definition of collaboration itself.
