The Daily Mess Hunger VS Work Plus Did Jesus Hit Anyone Upside The Head

About this episode

I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   Why does the thought of food take over our business day decisions?  Plus…where in the Bible does it show Jesus slapping someone upside the head?    I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

It really is about having fun, exploring, and finding things out that you didn't know so you can say, oh wow, I can't wait to share this. It's what we do on arrow.net, 21 different podcasts, ARROE.net. One of our big ones right now is a thing called Music's Lost History. You know the music, you know the artist, but can you name them if I give you the hints? Name them before we share them with you. ARROE.net. Enjoy your exploration. Hey it's me, that question guy. You know the dude that's always asking questions because it's so much fun to do the research for answers, such as why does the thought of food take over our business day decisions? Plus, where in the big book does it show that Jesus is slapping people upside the head? Really? My name is Arrow, I'm a daily writer, a silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen, study, then activate.

I happen to call it the daily mess because it's a chronological walk through an everyday world. It is my daily writing. As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw things to the side because we think we're going to deal with it later on. If you want to deal with it later on, you got to jot it down. You got to take some notes because you ain't going to be remembering it. On a subject arrives inside of me, it is time to dig in. It's still keeping that daily journal, but by doing the research, the picture becomes clearer. This is the daily mess. Why does the thought of food take over our business day decisions? Does anyone ever get any work done before lunch? Well without a doubt, food is tied to one of our brain's motivational settings. Your brain is no different than your pet dog. The brain is always locked in on getting that reward and immediate satisfaction. Believe it or not, it does block out long term considerations such as finishing a task. Work still gets done, but the brain is doing its own thing.

It's checking in saying, uh uh uh uh. Now, it's not a lack of intelligence or motivation. It's a competition to get whatever attention is available at the time. But, but there is a difference between being hungry and being preoccupied with food. Hunger is always going to be huge. Hunger is also physical. Lunch is looked upon as being a preoccupation. It is a learned habit, emotional response or the big reward. If you would like to change your habit, it's time to interrupt that loop. You can do this by using self discipline in the way of creating and sticking to a daily lunchtime. Don't get off the path. Always change your environment. Plus, don't forget to ask your hunger if it's thirst. What are you dude? Are you really hunger or are you thirst? It is a power nap, not boredom. Something is making your love for food louder and louder every day.

What the question is, do you turn it into a reward? Hey, coming up next, where in the Bible? Yeah, the big book does it say that Jesus slapped people upside the head. Hey, thanks for coming back to the Daily Mass. Where in the big book, the Bible does it show that Jesus enjoyed slapping people upside the head while shouting, heeey old. Uh oh. This is a human thing, right? All of these faith healers and they do that big whack. Jesus didn't do the big whack. Now sometimes he did some things to heal some people and it was very dramatic, but it wasn't a quick hit upside the noggin. Jesus used his words like, your son will live, John 450. The creative son also touched people, you'll find in the book of Mark. Oh wait, there was that time that Jesus put mud on that blind man's eyes. Oh, how dare he.

Plus we can't leave out that Jesus didn't hold back telling people to get up, pick your mat up and start walking. But no faith healer in those days slapped somebody upside the forehead and said, heeey old. Then again, there was that time inside the temple. Jesus turned over all the tables and drove out the merchants. That was one of those moments, right? Not really. Now it wasn't a healed moment. That was just Jesus being Jesus. Then again, we had Amy McPherson, a huge head hitting faith healer from the 1920s. I grew up watching oral Roberts. This is where all this is coming from. And I was convinced as a kid that that's what everybody must do. I mean, look at Vinnie Hinn. Here's the dude that has people falling backwards. Not a big ol' southern swing. It's just like, bink right on the head and they fall over. Bink, bink. But Jesus didn't do that. None this book. I'm Arrow and that's the Daily Mass.
