About this episode
Sometimes we need to go where we don't want to go, to get to where we want to be.
One of Joseph Campbell's most famous quotes is this; "The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek".
In this episode of the podcast, I'm sharing a struggle that I went through, speaking to you as I was right in the thick of it.
Change can be really challenging and deeply uncomfortable, as we are forced to deal with emotions that which we have avoided dealing with for most of our lives.
But eventually, if we want to move, if we want to change, if we want to grow - we have to face it.
Our darkness is nothing to be feared.
Denying, suppressing and avoiding dealing with our painful emotions does not make them go away.
Being honest with ourselves and facing up to what we fear is the only way through. We want to learn to embrace the struggle - even as we are up to our neck in it - and to recognise that it is through properly owning our problems that we always find our solution.
