The 12 steps began long before most believe. Consider this short intro a foundation into the 12 steps and Traditions used today. From a simple concept of community to th Oxford Group and then to what we know today. While we will only talk about those early foundations up to the original 6 word of mouth steps of AA, hopefully it will shed light on how Recovery became more structured and bound in tradition. Possibly losing some of the very foundation that includes grace.
