Texas Tech Loses to BYU, Prepares for Big Twelve Tournament

0:00On March 8th, the 10th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders lost to the BYU Cougars 82-76 on Saturday night in Provo. Tech finished the regular season with back-to-back defeats, but still grabbed the fourth seed in the Big 12 Conference Tournament, earning a spot straight into the quarterfinals. Texas Tech dominated the first half, taking an eight-point lead into the locker room. Sophomore Guard Christian Anderson paced them with 15 points and shattered the single-season assists record at 227, wow. Senior Donovan Atwell added 15 more on sharp shooting. BYU flipped the script after half-time, cutting the lead early and surging ahead. Sophomore Guard Robert Wright, the third erupted for 27 points, mostly in the second half, as the Cougars snapped their three-game skid-and, handed tech at second straight loss. Tech battled back late with a nine-point run to tie things up, thanks to clutch buckets from Anderson, who finished with 23 points.
