Texas Education Agency just stepped in to take over Lake Worth Independence School District, appointing Ena Myers as the new superintendent and A, five member board of managers. This follows a state law triggered by one school getting a fifth straight efforting. Myers starts on a short 21-day contract with a longer one coming soon from the new board. Myers brings over 20 years as a teacher, principal, and lately deputy chief in Houston schools. She's got a doctorate in educational administration and certifications across the board. The managers include local educators, business pros, a navy vet, and a long-time lake-worth resident who's a retired teacher focused on special needs. Kids, the old elected board chose not to fight the takeover and admitted they moved too slow hiring the prior superintendent, Mark Ramirez, who resigned last month.
